Not everyone that lives or comes from America is RICH!

even traveling loses its luster when you don't have a purpose. When I travel, I avoid the hotels and all the tourist traps. I rent a house and right away start scheeming about what would it take to live there and not be bored.

I agree. When I go to Poland I'm going to see if I can find my ancestors towns and cities, just to give me something to do. I couldn't go to Poland without some sense of history of the place. I just can't look at buildings and countryside without some historical context, it gets boring fast.

I thought to mess around with this kit (probably will wait till spring now), it does a hydrogen injection into the fuel/air mix, and then hopefully in a couple years, if technology allows, pull the entire engine and reseat something else in there.

Hydrogen injection? Where does the hydrogen come from? Methonol/water injection from SNOW may be more practical. Remember water is Hydrogen.

Borrowing money?

At zero per cent interest rates, now is the time to borrow money.

i don't think many people count on 401k or irs'a anymore...

If you held onto your stock portfolio through 2009 you did quite well. Problem is, most people bailed in 2008 and went into bond funds.

It is never the time to borrow money to consume. To invest, yes, but the investment has to give you a good return in order to beat the inflation "tax" that artificially low rates produce.

where are zero interest rates available?

Near zero loans are available at the Fed to 18 specific other private banks. Those banks in turn can buy US treasuries with a 3% return (treasuries can also be used to fulfill reserve requirements). In turn, the US government can keep doing its thing because people have faith in it and keep buying securities...

No, not everyone that lives or comes from America is rich, but then again rich is relative. Your average Jan and Jane Kowalski had an income of $26,530 a year in the US. If they worked, they probably earned a salary close to $30,899. The average was $41,928 per year.

Your average Jan and Jane in Poland earn 3256zl a month, or about $13,500 a year. That is average, median will be south of that.

they have always lended to their friends at very low or 0%, so this is nothing new then.

I thought he meant I could get a zero interest loan.

I get offers from credit card companies all the time for zero interest for a year or so. When the year is up, switch cards. Also lots of guys run their businesses using credit cards for operating capital. They call it 30 days of free money. Credit cards are a lot easier than going to the bank for a loan, provided of course that you maintain your credit rating.

COL in Poland is a lot lower, so can't compare incomes from both countries.

The question was asked. ( Why did so many people come to America) Actually, they were hungry and looked for a better life. I included a song from that time translated to english, for those that do not speak Polish

GORALU CZY CI NIE ZAL.

Rough Translation
Highlander, don't you feel sad
To leave your native lands,
From the green forests and meadows
And the silvery streams?

Highlander, don't you feel sad?
Highlander, return to the meadows!
Highlander, don't you feel sad?
Highlander, return to the meadows!

And the highlander gazes at the mountains
And wipes away a tear with his sleeve,
Because he must leave the mountains
For bread, Sir, for bread.

Highlander, don't you feel sad?
Highlander, return to the meadows!
Highlander, don't you feel sad?
Highlander, return to the meadows!

Come back those who are not making it big in USA ... it is still possible to make a living in Poland.

Cool down, think about it ... people from such far off places come to Poland and make it a good living, even make it big for them ... why can you??

Whats the difference? ... In Poland you can have a good life! If your life is nothing more than a machine in USA ... do consider coming back to Poland ... but please with a clean heart and open mind ... give something good to the society and add something nice to the culture.

Culture is an open system where there is a high level of acceptance ... it modifies itself constantly. Although this is not always true for the sub-cultures which exist within it ... culture engulfs the sub-cultures within it. Be a part of the greater culture, and make your sub-culture a support for the culture as a whole to save and create a progressive effect to its major cultural momentum.

read the fine print.

They might offer you zero percent but it doesn't mean they are actually going to qualify anyone for 0%. those offers are just come ons.

So you'd suggest trading out living like a machine in the US for living like a machine in Poland?

Come back those who are not making it big in USA ... it is still possible to make a living in Poland.

If you're having fiscal problems in the US, Poland will eat you alive.

I think the biggest problem today is that people are not as resourceful and creative as our grandparents were before the age of supermarkets and chain stores... and television.

Less drive, you can live better than they ever dreamed without even working...at all.

It's true. Which is exactly why I said I am taking next year off. Take some time to simply focus 100% on myself and my own family.

Of course, I have been working 25-30 years and as I've mentioned, things accumulate over the years, so we are in good shape. If I were 20 and just starting out, it would be a different picture altogether. I am prepared to help the kids.

I have no intention of paying for Obamacare and all of it's tax increases and other requirements for small business. This bill is death to the middle class.

If I am not showing any income they'll have to pay my way.

Yep, better to let people suffer cos they cant afford the insurance...
cheehaw  2 | 263
21 Nov 2010 /  #258
definitely. most of them will suffer either way. the less income a person keeps after taxes the less they have upfront to take care of themselves to begin with. no brainer.. malnutrition is probably the country's biggest problem.

and if they need oxycotin or valium let em get it on the corner for all I care.

Indeed it is.

yep, feck those on lower wages, they only deserve to work in crappy construction jobs but deserve to live a life in pain for them not achieving anything.

The more you give people the less drive they have to improve their station themselves. Handouts create and perpetuate a continued cycle of handouts. Thus, the permanent so-called 'Welfare State'...

Why? ... Poland is a different place with a set of different opportunities!

Try it ... use ur skills ... see if you can deliver well! ... Make jobs ... create success! When so many people even sometimes from outside Europe can, why cant a person with Polish gene can do it?

Although I am not agreeing with the me, me, meism when it comes to healthcare America has no peer. Certainly much better than the UK system. Good intentions doesn't make a good healthcare system. Ya gotta make an effort too.

As much as i hate to admit it i am also polish, and after reading this It just makes me realize more of how much i am ashamed of it. it only proves my point that i know destinctivley where polish people come from, on some village in poland, we are poor lets go to america, got a taste of the pie and now back to the same village behaavior we again are lower class. To make things short i hate poland and anyone anything and everthing that it stands for. Which in my opinion it stands for nothing

Interestingly enough with all the gun violence, lack of healthcare, and terrible diet, lack of exercise, Americans still live just as long as Europeans...

what generally offsets the healthcare problem in america is that america still ranks #1 in emergency medical care, which means that america is probably the best country in the world to abuse your health because you'd have the best chance of surviving it. more second, third, fourth chances.

more second, third, fourth chances.

There was a study comparing UK and US health, it found that the poorest people in the UK were in better health than the richest Americans.

The reason is simple, the British get preventative medical care starting before birth, whereas the US get reactive medical care after problems occur. By the time you are getting emergency medical care its too late, your ******.

Personally I'd prefer a healthy life than to spend it in ill health knowing an ambulance would save me a few more times.

The OP has to realise that he is a Pole, not an American. With his criminal record he won't be able to set foot in the USA again. Going to a country as a guest and committing multiple armed robberies, being a member of a criminal gang etc there is no way an official would let him in.

for most people, this would certainly be the better option but i feel it is person dependent.

for someone such as myself, maybe not as a child because I simply had less control over these sorts of things, but now, as a person in my 30's, I'd rather take the "american" system. I pay very close attention to my diet and exercise quite intensely nearly every day. I have no cancer in my family, I don't struggle with obesity or high blood pressure or diabetes, I don't get sick much, so someone like me doesn't really need so much "preventative" care but i sure would like to have the best medical care available in case of a catastrophe.

in a perfect world, people would all exercise and eat properly and pay close attention to their health, utilizing today's medical advancements only for things that are beyond their control, but we all know that the majority of people do not fall under that category.

cheehaw: and poles and everyone else with a hand out waiting for a handout from the USA.

What the heck are you talking about ?

What the heck are you talking about?Have you been living under the rock for the last 50 years?Over here (in the US) everyone knows that the World is still turning around only because America gives handouts to all other countries and stuff. We help everbody.Just look how we help Egypcians, without our help they could come up with some stupid ideas about who should run Egypt, but thanks to US help they have democracy and an awesome president. And there is more examples of our help,Iraq,Afganistan,Saudi Arabia,Pakistan and so on.$hit we even gave the whole $50k to Poland after the flood. We help even when someone don't need or want our help, so tell me what are you talking about?
