Not everyone that lives or comes from America is RICH!

and the moral is, don't race to get rich and retire too fast

Please, don't patronize me. Work is a chore and eventually it leads to misery unless you find something different to do but then the process repeats itself.

Very frequently a working person gets stuck in their job and the misery continues for many long years destroying the person inside. I believe Cheehaw is a perfect example of that. Miserable, pissed, can’t enjoy anything anymore.

I think the trick is to get more people like you and Cheehaw into believing that working very hard and efficiently is enjoyable and noble, where you don't b!tch about it too much and continue on feeding resources to the "rich" people, so the rich in return can continue on enjoying their lives.

The fact is that we fight, kill, steal and work hard just to have more resources than the person next to us. imo not having had to do that is bliss and a promised land for many.

In Poland everyone watches the Hollywood movies showing those rich Americans loving their lives. There is some truth in it, but a lot of it is misunderstood.

Well, you prefer to work and I like spending my time with my loved ones sailing, traveling, having fun and not worrying about work at all.

Poor people have to work their azz off and do what they are told to do by their boss. and every boss has a boss. It makes me miserable, you know?. Therefore I’m happy it’s Friday and I can finely do some real living… going sailing tomorrow. :)

Everyone is familiar with the saying money won't make you happy? I say it's a superstitious bullsh1t.

I know of a million ways to make myself and my family happy with lots of money.

You complain too much yourself, Havok.

I like to busht1t with people here, sometimes complain about stupid and irrelevant stuff. Trying to kill some time while at work…

No one ever gave me anything for free... for a long time everything i owned would fit in the military sea bag on my shoulder.

I’m very happy with my life, and i consider myself very fortunate, I’m very happy to live here in the US, I love this country and everything about it, even the crappy things that you hate.

I just wanna effing retire as soon as possible so I can enjoy my life to the full extent and not end up to be so miserable and grumpy like you.

you have to pick a more satisfying proffession. Waiting to retire does not a happy life make.
;)

Engineer, hardware design. What's yours?

that's funny LMAO,

well, I manage an engineering team consisted of software engineers, DBAs, system admins etc. that supports a mainframe database at a bank.

I find my job stressful as hell, I’m not sure what makes you so happy about yours.

I really don't like managing people either. Is that what makes you so unhappy with your job? I made a conscious choice to stay in design, even if it doesn't get me as many promotions. Love my job.

I find my job stressful as hell, I’m not sure what makes you so happy about yours.

ah.. designing a board and watching it fly a year or two later.

6 & VD is a bad area, not the worst however.

I used to work right by there.

Detroit is getting better slowly. It's going to take at least another 2-3 years.

There is no where in Poland that is as bad as inner city Detroit.

However, there is no place as nice as where I live that I have seen.

To change the vice, I like everyone and everything, have some family in the us ( my aunt is polish and my uncle is american) they live fairly well.. they are not rich and have problems with their current place of living ;o I think my uncle is racists and yells at (other than white) coloured clerks in wallmarts.. peple who have no knowledge of todays world might think about the american dream...

I think your uncle would get his ass kicked for doing that.

Dunno, I've met him while he was in Poland, never had a chance to see his "racism" in action. And the wall mart stories were told to me by my parents who visited him in Florida ;o I know he's a religious devout... and a bit of a novely to me, my family is all polish there's just this one aunt who emigrated to states and married an american guy... very strange..

Envious of what? What do we have? Cheap food, somewhat cheap housing, electronics I guess.. that's pretty much it in a nutshell. Europe's got more personality.

"Not everyone that lives or comes from America is RICH!!!"

So true, yet, here is a somewhat ironic truth. Poor people in the U.S. are 'wealthier' than poor people in 2nd and 3rd world countries. We have beggars using cell phones; many fat 'street' people; most have access to tv's and some even drive automobiles.

I just wanna effing retire as soon as possible so I can enjoy my life to the full extent and not end up to be so miserable and grumpy like you.

mostly I cannot figure out why you keep saying I am miserable.

you sound pretty miserable to me. desk jobs will do that to ya. Make you fat with that pasty complexion.. zitty and fat, maybe that is why you are miserable?

I've never had to steal, not once. Sad to hear that that is your life philosophy, stealing and killing. there's a lot of that around these days. but you know, what goes around comes around so maybe you'll get robbed soon too.

I think mostly, you do not like what I say about bankers.

yea, that would be it wouldnt it? You need people to borrow money to keep yer job, don'tcha?

and here I am telling people not to borrow money.. that is not good for you is it?

;)

I'll tell you about my internet biz some other time. That's the biz I am closing right now.

why you are miserable

well hes going sailing, that sounds miserably fun..

ehh, well to be happy in your job, you have to walk in positive
the tone sets the day , if you walk in all gloomy, it will be depressing
if you walk in positive and sure of yourself and know that you can handle
things.. you will be alright.

no managment job is easy, but take ownership and back them up..
you get alot of respect when you are there for your group.

Look, I've seen it a million damn times: You're European, you watch movies, you think the U.S. is some incredible haven from the movies.. you move here.. think it sucks.. then go home.

Just stay home. It's not that bad where you're from. Trust me. I like being American because it's crazy and funny.. but Europeans don't fit in so much. Why? Because they're not crazy and funny.

What do rich people say?

they're usually pretty boring.. trying to figure out the best capuccino maker, best time to water their lawn. This kind of thing. They're not exactly philosophic, about anything.

They say being rich is cool.

without family or friends? it does sound pretty boring.

I think Howard Hughes had that problem. The curse of wealth. Always chasing money. Coming up with schemes to make more money.

to each his own I guess.

The rich peeps I know are cool as hell.

why are they rich? They had an extra hundred bucks to spend at the club tonight? or.. they own a castle in Brazil?
