I suppose that's the danger of Hollywood - although even the Polish film industry isn't immune to creative retellings of stories!

Still, I wonder why they're approaching Hollywood with all the alleged anti-Polish bias that it has when there are many other places that might be interested.

Just please, no Ben Affleck.

I do not doubt that there is a load of respect for Mr. Cooper in Poland.

However, by clearly established forum standards, he was an American. Period. After all, being one or two generations removed from ole blighty, there would be no connection of any value by which he could claim to be or claimed to be British. I am sure he would have been calling is own mother "mother" not "mumsy".

Now now. We all know about how the Polish-Americans claim 4th, 5th and even 6th generations back as proof that they're Polish, so we're quite within our rights to call him an English-American accordingly.

He wasn't British, however.

Is it possible to be English, yet not British?

Depends if you won something?

Easily. They're undergoing somewhat of a national awakening at the minute. And me - I'm Scottish, I resent any use of the word "British" to describe me.

Wouldn't surprise me if in years to come, we see the situation where some people in Northern Ireland describe themselves as British, yet Britain doesn't exist. People still describe themselves as Yugoslavian in some Balkan states, after all - particularly those of mixed marriages and Muslims who live outside Bosnia.
