Advice needed for Polish mother-in-law visiting USA - health insurance

My wife's mother is going to come stay with us for 6 months in May.
My questions are: should she get some type of temporary health insurance while she is hear and where is something like that available
She does not speak much English, how can we arrange an interpreter for the immigration/customs interrogation?
Thanks

I'd certainly suggest health insurance. Perhaps contact your current provider?

As for interpreters, I understand those are provided as needed.

Did you solve the issue of paying her visa application fee?

Yes we did a wire transfer to her bank, and my bank took $40 and her bank took $20 on a $160 transfer it's like robbery. If we have to do it again we will setup a paypal account.

you might want to have details written out for her in English so that when she is going through customs and being questioned by those a-holes she can just present the information. ex, where she is staying, how long, how much money she has---typical customs questions.

...alongside their Polish translation, so that she understands both what she is reading and/or saying. The customs official's questions too should be transcribed and translated into Polish.

Geez, relax dude,US immigration is not a Gestapo so just chill.Few years ago my mother travelled to visit me and she speaks very little English so when the custom officer asked her a question she said "I don't speak English, only Polish", he smiled and said "Welcome to United States".

Yeah, great Idea.I don't know how you imagine her understanding any question in English if she does not speak English?

by those a-holes

I have met like ten of them, none was an "a-hole" and few were even fairly nice people.

seriously, ten?? that practically makes you an expert.

my worst experience was in Chicago- the rudest, dumbest a-hole I have ever met and the whole time I had to be polite and say thank you. Uneducated trailer park trash with too much power.

Maybe you have had good encounters with immigration but they were very rude to my wife. Canada is worse, they tasered a man from Poland and killed him, and another they handcuffed him, took his passport and detained him for something like a week

yes, everybody knows about Robert Dzienkanski, however that was the RCMP who were responsible for his death- not the border control. That was also in Vancouver- I fly into Vancouver a minimum of once a year- they are the nicest in all of Canada- however I just went through Calgary in Jan and they were nice too. Toronto, by far, is the rudest, however- nothing in comparison to American border patrol. In my experience.

I would posit that Robert Dzienkanski was responsible for his own demise, as it was his actions in a pique of lunacy that brought forth the law.
