Polish women that go "off the rails" in London

I have read many posts on here and know of many polish girls/women myself (none more so than my ex-girlfriend) who have come to London (or another UK city) as sweet, loving, good-natured, loyal girls and after 6-12 months here have gone completely off the rails. And by gone off the rails I mean have lost their morals, become dishonest, even adulterous, and are more interested in partying with other polish deadbeats than maintaining loyalty and respect for their partner.

In my situation I did everything to provide for my polish girlfriend - made a home for us, paid for almost everything, supported her in everything she did ... I did this all because she showered me with love and constantly told me that I was the only thing that mattered to her in life and that her place was next to me.

Now after nearly a year of being in London she has completely changed beyond recognition. She is hard-faced, cynical, conflict-prone, selfish and dishonest to the point of where she cheated. We are not together, she moved out. She never showed any remorse for her actions and never even apologised. I am amazed that someone could change so much, it saddens me deeply.

But it's not the first time I have heard such a thing. The question is why does London have such an effect on (young) Polish women?

The only thing I can think of is that because she is very naturally pretty that she was not used to men staring at her and idolising her in this way back in Poland. Has she become aware through her inflated ego that she is able to manipulate men here with her beauty and therefore feels she doesn't have to make any real effort in a relationship, take responsibility or deal with relationship problems, because she feels she is ‘above’ that and has many other options.

As this all quite fresh to me, I would like to ask people who have been in a similar situation … Has the girl eventually grown up and realised the error of their ways, that they can’t treat people who are good to them like that. Dare I suggest that one day she might grow tired of the partying, decide to grow up, realise what she had, and even try to make some amends for her ways?!

So your relationship didn't work out. It happens in life. Keep your chin up, forget about her and move on. Plenty more fish in the sea :)

Ah; men always expect that women will stay the same, whereas women expect that men can be changed ...

Both wrong assumptions on which many relationships have come to grief

Infatuations are like that after a while the feeling of love disappears. Obviously it was an infatuation.
Why young Polish ladies would possibly act like you've described? They have just flied out of nest to set their adult life, the first disillusions with idealism... Well the reason is obvious: THEY ARE YOUNG :)

That's where you made your mistake. Now she expects more.....

I did this all because she showered me with love and constantly told me that I was the only thing that mattered to her in life and that her place was next to me.

So let me get this straight. You gave her love and she gave you love (sic). Additionally, you supported her materially. She made out well and expects more from you. That's not because she is Polish but it's because she is a 'modern' woman, that is to say, she is spoiled and at the same time "entitled" and "empowered" by you and society in general. No good will or can come from this.

Because there's more choice in London.....consider you're some bird from some dump like Zabrze and you're going out with some Waldek that you've been with since high-school. Waldek is OK, but he's only a simple coalminer who loves to beat up Ruch Chorzow supporters every weekend.......sounds boring eh? And then you go to London and there's a world of choice on offer, unless Waldek changes to the cosmopolitan life, he's gonna get left behind.

Dude, why did you bring a chick to London? Isn't there a saying in Poland "you don't bring timber to the wood?"

Go out a get a new bird, there's plenty of hot sinful lusty women in London.

Haha I enjoyed that analogy

Because I'm English and live and work in London ... Maybe I should move to Zabrze :-)

Oh man, no, no, no, don't do that.....proper kip.....imagine 1970s Manchester, but more grim and smaller, way smaller.....and more smog.

On the plus side, you'd be an exotic foreigner and the clunge would be wet for you instantly :P
Tellin ya, if I had know that pasty white guys like me were considered exotic and sexy I'd have moved here when I was 18!

They're mad for Western Europeans. ;)

1970's Manchester? Smog? Think you're a 100 years out with that comment - majority of the inner city factories were well gone,. To the OP - women change if you had a lovely English rose from a small English village the same could happen - if she really loved you she wouldn't have done what she did - don't blame her nationality.
