Hi all long time no Read,
Hope your all well

A little ? that hopefully someone can help us with..

We are back in the UK(Wales) and have been since June last year,We are trying to renew our little man Passport other here with no joy,

We have just come back from a 2 week hols in Poland and didn't get time to renew it there,We have tried to do it here and told the earliest we can do

it is Sept,I'm doing a Coach trip over to Poland in Aug(as i'm a Coach driver) with about 25 people and would be great for My better half and little 1 to be there,

Q 1, Is there any other way we can get a Polish Passport in the UK for him,
Q 2,On the bottom of his passport it says that he cannot be stopped from entering Poland Even though his passport has run out,Could he be stopped leaving the UK

Bearing in mind he is only 2 1/2 yrs old.

Thanks all in advance

You should be able to get his passport sorted out at the Polish consulate in London, although I understand that they are very busy these days. But why not just get him a British passport? That would be much easier to do in Britain.

I took from what the chap said that his young child is a Polish citizen. Therefore, surely they can't "just get him a British passport" ?

It can't be that simple to change someone's nationality just to make the issuing of a passport easier ?

From memory Andrew is a British-born British citizen, meaning his son is also a British citizen.

I am not sure if the rules have changed Harry but when my partner was pregnant (seven years ago), I enquired about getting my daughter a British passport but the rule then was that she had to be registered at the consulate in Warsaw within the first 6 months of the pregnancy. I thought at the time that this was a bit stupid as, anything could have happened at the birth.

Anyway, the British passport is nothing special now that they give them away with a packet of crisps. I am happy for her to be a little Polska.

Why didn't you just get him a dowód osobisty?

(they can be issued for EU travel upon request)

Nope, have a look here - msw.gov.pl/portal/pl/365/4543/Termin_i_sposob_zalatwienia.html

Little known, but far easier to get than a passport, not least because you don't have to bother going to the provincial passport offices.

Why dont you just get a British passport? Fill out a from - make the payment, send in a parcel force special delivery envelope and just wait for it to turn up.

Hi Guys thanks for the Replies

Our Little boy was born in Poland when we registerd his birth they could only put my first name on the certificate,So Stupid Polish law say that if your from another country you need to get a translator to translate some sort of agreement that his my son.(Cr.p i think),We couldn't get 1 at the time and now its causing problems,We tried to get id for him while we was in Poland 4 weeks ago but would have taken 4 weeks to do and we was only there for 2 weeks,Just need to get them back to Poland,Might take the chance taking them over on my coach,We never get checked at the boarder leaving the UK......

Avalon, the rules must have changed, my son was born in South Africa, his dad is British, there was absolutely no issues, we both had to sign document that we agree that our child gets British passport, then his dad had to give his birth certificate along with the application. It took about 4 weeks.

but if he doesnt have a passport on him, how will you come back without being accused of God knows what?
if I were you I would just apply for a British passport ASAP for him.

Yes and you will pat yourself on the back in the future should the relationship go pear shaped. A Polish passport = Double Trouble.

Indeed! Remember the days when children could be named on their parents' passports ?

How did things become so complicated ?!?!

I hope that there comes a day when all these countries (both EU and non-EU), that few seem to want to live in and came here instead, manage to turn themselve around so that they all start flocking back only to be denied entry......having been told that their "British" children with their "British" passports will need to apply for all kinds of visas before being allowed in.

Happened quite famously to that great British writer, Lawrence Durrell.
