Obviously, but its the degrees of this system that bothers me. The rich are getting richer because they have the money required to make more money and the poor, poorer.

Whats your opinion on the hedge funds that bought entire phases of property in Poland? i can remember viewing certain new developments to discover that overseas investment funds had came in and slapped deposits down on all the best units, sometimes 100's or more. This isn't helping an economy - its ultimately screwing it over.

The PL government could have done a better job, if you bought a house as a foreigner you would have to apply for a permit, to buy flats or apartments there are no restriction. Moreover many PL developers are naive they allowed foreign companies to come in ( mostly CY offshore holdings) and snap up units at discount. If you walk by many of the high end buildings built from 2004 on-wards at night, they are 50% in darkness as the units still remain unoccupied. The real estate market in PL today is affected by lack of liquidity, the banks are no longer throwing money at people and the market is grinding to a halt, when the market re-corrects the market will move again, although we will never see the same glory days again, the market is more mature. If people want to but flats in Warsaw there are plenty available to suit all budgets.

Its affected by the lack of banks willing to lend, but thats not the major factor - the tripling of prices is the main reason.

Anyway must dash....capitalism is a calling.

the tripling of prices is the main reason.

I would have to question tripling of prices, prices have readjusted a lot. You can't compare old builds to new builds they are worlds apart, you could easily buy a flat in Warsaw for 4-5000 Zloty per m2, may not be prime location, developers have adjusted to market conditions.Banks are not lending as they know there is still downside in the market, sellers are not selling as they are not prepared to drop prices so there is a stand off.

The market lacks liquidity.

If a man has an apartment stacked to the ceiling with newspapers we call him crazy. If a woman has a house full of cats we call her nuts. But when people pathologically hoard so much cash that they impoverish the entire nation and our children's futures, we put them on the cover of Fortune magazine and pretend that they are role models.

we put them on the cover of Fortune magazine and pretend that they are role models.

Buffet and Gates are role models.

The problem is sovereign wealth funds they are out of control and have a destabilizing effect on the economy.

The market lacks liquidity.

and that was ultimately caused by a huge increase in prices in a very short period of time, which led to your liquidity.....
Its the tripling of prices, regardless of what one may be able buy for 4000-5000 PLN / m2 in Warsaw.

Buffet and Gates are role models.

Are they really? Even if they are that's like saying Nelson Mandela was a great leader, but we all know that the majority are not.

Good analogy, i may use that in the future.

The problem is sovereign wealth funds they are out of control and have a destabilizing effect on the economy.

Nothing associated with the inherent corruption built into the system then, or the fact that interest is charged on every loan and that the interest never actually existed so can never be paid back. and what about privately owned central banks?

The problem is the system Warszawski, it cannot be solved as long as money and the profit agenda exists....period.

At least in the old ghetto where I am, many of the new builds are let to people who have offices in the flats. A friend of mine lives in a six floor new building with 50 units in it. According to the security guards at the front desk she and her daughter make up two thirds of the building's permanent population.

In the early stages of the financial crises, many developers had their credit line stopped as a knee jerk reaction from banks in Poland. Foreign investors came in and bought into developments at up to 60% discount.

Spoken like a true working class Englishman. If money were the root of all evil, Marxism would have succeeded. The English Elite perpetuate this nonsense so that you working stiffs will not want and threaten their bank rolls. And you guys fall for it, everytime.

The world was a different place back then we weren't experiencing the critical issues as we are now, capitalism was working well back then it was yet to rear its ugly head, even if small signs were there. I dont think you really have a clue what youre talking about to be honest.

The English Elite perpetuate this nonsense so that you working stiffs will not want and threaten their bank rolls. And you guys fall for it, every time.

You mentioned something about this before, it didnt make sense then and it still doesnt now, i asked you then to provide a summary, i wont hold my breath this time either.

Spoken like a true working class Englishman.

Truth is the truth, no matter who is saying it. The World is waking up, maybe you should try it, i can help you.

There are a few documentaries which have been made over the years about living on the streets of the UK's big cities Dispatches made one, then there was one from the late 70's/80's called Johnny go home.

The UK is full up. People are hostile towards not just Poles, but all the other degenerates who come to the UK for freebies and handouts. It's absolutley amazing how on the one hand people in the UK are so particular about how they dispense with their trash and careful about recyling all the correct materials yet have allowed their own country to become a human dustbin for all sorts of rubbish.

The UK is a broken country. For the citizens like me wanting to stay in London, get a reasonably paid job in order to travel, the Poles have ensured that those days are gone. They have reduced my bargaining power, raised the rents and lowered the wages. As you may have guessed, I dislike Polish people intensely.

Phew.......I,m thinking now how lucky I am that all I have to worry about is that my sweetcorn is not doing very well this year.

unfortunately for humanity most people seem to conveniently use this kind of mindset.

The usual excuses: ohh we cant change anything, as long as myself and my family are OK, everything will be fine, global warming is a hoax, there will always be money.....blah blah blah

How long have i been posting TZM? well over three years and whos actually stood up and said "humm we need real change", i can think of a few but not many. You people are ignorant beyond belief - you deserve to die, maybe humanity is destined to destroy itself. It would after all be an exception to the statistical rule of life on Earth if we didnt.

I did wonder where Jon sourced this little number:

  • Hoarders

Jon underwent a major mental change some time ago. I suppose he was abducted by body snatchers and replaced with a substitute, now totally controlled by them.

yes , but jon does a point have tho - the current high prices for just about everything we pay for today is proof.

speculators/middlemen who "hoard" commodities to sustain prices , those F~~~ks who bought homes/ ,, sorry property,, in the 2000s hoping for substantial returns in the future- regardless of the fact that weve all got to one day pay for those returns in the form of higher mortgages/rents ....

jon might have had this in mind when he speaks of hoarding - whats mental about that?
