I always use paypal. I dunno if there's a UK equivalent but I suspect there is. You may have to send it in installments, as anything over 500 bucks here gets a charge. Western Union and Bank Transfers can be a hassle compared to paypal, in my opinion.
Are you converting pounds to zlotys? If so, and you have a bank account in Poland to which you can send the money, you will get a better exchange rate
with an specialist FX broker. Worldfirst.com is the best I've found so far - their rates were the best and there is no transfer fee. (Let me know if you find a better one).
Yep PayPal is ok. Also MoneyGram - service available at every PostOffice in the UK and in many banks and financial institutions in Poland. Hassle - free.
Be careful with PayPal in Poland. If you open the account from here it won't have full functionality. Western Union is everywhere here, though they are of course more for emergencies.
Merged: How much are you paying in fee to transfer money from UK to Poland?
Hi Folks,
we all know that money transfers are expensive (even more when you look at the hidden conversion fees) and I was wondering what were the percentage applied to your transfer. We have gathered some information to compare the prices on tawipay.com/send-money-from-united-kingdom-to-poland and I am curious if you have found something cheaper.
Free as in no fixed fees maybe... but in our experience, conversion fees applied by banks are often around 3-5%. You might want to check the conversion fee applied in your last transfer to make sure it is really free.
You're right, that transactions in EUR are not so popular as in PLN in Poland, for currency exchange local Kantor or online one like walutomat.pl have always better rates than any big bank.
What about your website being simple add banner? Nothing works there.
You might want to have a look at the deals we negotiated for the Poles living in the UK (free transfers until the end of the week): tawi pay send-money-from-united-kingdom-to-poland

I am David, also working at TawiPay. If you are interested we just put together a very cool guide called "The Ultimate Guide to send money from UK to Poland". It might really useful for some of you tawipay/en/us/send-money-from-uk-to-poland-guide.
Use bank Zachodni, I move 10k at a time they will beat any kantor rate for that amount, dont move allot of cash now the rate is bad between 5.25 5.35, wait for brexit fever to subside, i moved two years worth before things went mad.
Just do a straight bank transfer. You can do it online or in your brach in the UK. You'll need the account details that you want it sending to. The fee is usually a fixed rate, not much at all.
I move 10k at a time they will beat any kantor rate for that amount,
They usually open a sub account for sterling if you ask, so he can think about currency conversion afterwards.
Jon you are right about the sterling sub account I forgot to mention it,
It was simple to setup and the online banking is good, we usually move the sterling from the uk to the polish sterling account the wait for a good exchange rate, as and when we see a good deal we go down to he bank and they phone for a spot rate which is always better than what they show on the wall , and is highly competitive against the kantor.
Yes you can use a sterling account and convert when you wish. PKOBP do an online dealer service and from memory its about 8 big figures spread so about 4 figures either side of market. Its 100zl/m to keep the service so makes sense if you convert once a month or more and are using larger sums as it keeps things safe and legal. If changing a few grand than a kantor makes most sense and if buying pounds most let you buy at market as it saves them having to send the daily pound collection to the bank.
I'm just researching the best way to transfer large sums of GBP from a UK bank account to a Polish Bank account.
I am moving to Lublin from the UK next month and because of the current poor exchange rate I'm looking into options.
One option that I have found is to open up a Bank account with Danske Bank here in the UK and put all of my money into that. Then open up a Danske Bank account in Poland. This bank offers free transfers between its accounts in different countries. Are there any other banks that both have a presence in UK and Poland?
