Question about marrying abroad? I'm from UK, my fiance from Poland.

Helloooo

I am from the UK, my fiance from Poland. We are planning to get married in Cyprus and have run into confusion regarding legal documents.

I understand as a UK national I would require a Certificate of No Impediment within 3 months of date of marriage to legally confirm there are no objections to our proposed marriage.

Does anyone know of the equivalent document for my fiance? She lives with me in the UK, is it possible to obtain a Certificate of No Impediment via a Polish embassy, by post or via the church?

Any help would be much appreciated as we are not sure what to do hehe

Thanks,

Jimmy

Try Polish embassy, but it's better if your spouse talks to them in Polish.

Hi i have a question, I hope someone can help me.
I am Spanish and my husband is Polish and we married in UK. We don't have any children at the moment.
My concern is, my husband never registered the marriage in Polish consulate to be official recognised in Poland the marriage. So officially we aren't married in Poland until this is done? Is that correct? Is he free to marry someone else? And how this affects my rights or what rights do i have if i have children with him to future inheritances from his family etc? And my children? My marriage is registered in Spain so my husband have rights to my inheritance from my parents, but i am concern if i have children with him they will have nothing from his parents side? I am not sure how this works and how polish law is in this terms.

How long have you been married? Did you ask him if he plans on returning to Poland or will be settling permanent in the UK (presumably with you)?
