Obtaining driving License in UK or Poland ..which is easier

After more than 40 hours driving lesson I took the Polish computer driving test which I pasted at first attempt..
Wrote the practical 3 times and had a negetive result...My last trial was he best ever...but the problem was that I forgot to but down my hand break and the Examination was rendered over..

My question now is...I will be moving to Uk in 2 weeks time actually immigrating..Is obtaining a driving license very difficult in Uk too..Dont get me wrong driving the car outside examination condition during my driving lesson were ok.but examination situation once is tends to be stressed up and get stuffs mix-up...

I am going to continue in the Uk...
My second question is ...........is it possible to take a written document from a polish driving school to any school \driving licence board stating that i have driving for more than 40 hours

and that i only require the computer examination there in Uk and few driving hours....
Can some one clear the air on this issue ....I am sort of puzzled.

i did my test here in UK only 2 years ago so maybe I can help a bit.
You will have to do the theory test again, it's like a computer test and I have heard it is quite similar to the one in Poland.

You have to have passed the theory test before you book your practical test.
It does not matter how many hours you have done before you do the practical test, it is up to you.
Perhaps the best thing to do would be to book just a few hours driving lessons and ask the instructor if you are ready.
There is no obligation to do a set amount of hours before the test.
The driving test is more difficult than it used to be, or so I have heard.
Not many people pass on their first time.

you used to be able to buy your Polish driving licence

it was enough to give the examiner a bung and he would pass you

however as far as I know it is more or less impossible to buy a driving licence in Poland now
the driving test itself is recorded on film and you simply cannot cheat anymore

you need to weigh up the cost of the test and any additional lessons in the two countries and
make a decision which is the best option

I believe that the Polish driving instructors are the scum of the earth
they are mostly taxi drivers and allow their students to do the most stupid things including crashing
into kerbs at speed. I have never once seen them apply the dual control brakes.

4 different cameras, plus a microphone inside the car - and they routinely review the films. There was a big sting recently in Poznan with quite a few examiners being fired.


Mine was fantastic - truly passionate about driving, and he was keen to point out that much of driving was actually mathematical in nature. Not a crook at all - he had real passion for it, and he's now started his own school. Probably the best thing about him was that he was always pointing out other instructors mistakes - for instance, letting people sit forwards instead of back in the chair.

Generally though, instructors aren't too bad - there are league tables published of their ability to get students through the exams, so the bad instructors are often found out quite quickly. One big problem (and my instructor has solved this) is with the theory lessons not preparing people for the road - but he solved this by creating a custom-built simulator and making sure that people can work the pedals properly before going on the road.

Great guy - if anyone wants an instructor in Poznan, I'm happy to pass his details on. He's not the cheapest, but he was reliable and trustworthy. He was also quite happy to use the dual controls if he felt the need.

don't get me wrong, I am not doubting you

for example you are happily driving along some leafy suburb when a driving instructor decides it would be a good time for his charge to

execute a three point turn and pulls out right in front of you causing you to slam on the brakes

I have not done the test in Poland but I did take driving lessons when moving to Warsaw as I really felt I needed professional help

before taking to the unforgiving streets of Warsaw. My driving instructor was an ex taxi driver and he was cool and he
taught me some new expletives at no additional cost

It can still be done - especially away from big cities. The key is (as it always has been) to have an instructor who also works as an examiner. Allocation of examiners had to be randomised via computer to prevent abuse, but they still manage it.

I'm afraid that's right. Where there's brass there's muck (to mangle an old expression). I heard it costs 900PLN to get a dodgy pass.

When I took my Polish test ten years ago I failed first time due to a combination of nerves and my interpreter mistranslating instructions, but the test centre was notorious for bent tests.

My instructor was an alcoholic in a school of alcoholics. On more than one occasion he failed to be there for early morning lessons (accompanied drives, actually, as I was fairly experienced) because, as he told me later, he was hungover. I hope things are more professional these days.
