Hi all

Iv done a bit of research regarding signing up for an English IP address so i can watch SkyGo, BBC iplayer etc. Found a company called 'My Expat Network'. Wondered if anyone else is using them or knew of a better company or way to view the channels?

cheers in advance

HideMyA$$ (s, not $) is good, and Astrill has huge bandwidth so doesn't stop and start so much.

+1 for boxvpn I have it and it has unlimited bandwidth for uk and us but no torrent support so it is faster than most you can still connect to a amsterdam server to use torrent if you are so inclined

Absolutely and positively the best. I have been using them for over a year, never slow, never down. Very reliable

Expat Shield is definitely the best option - never had any real problems with it! You just need to ensure you have good signal strength and a fairly fast connection. tvcatchup.com is a good site for watching freeview channels.

Expat Shield

Is there a paid version, to avoid all those annoying ads?

Not that I am aware of. To be honest, it's annoying at first but you get used to it after a while.

I noticed that the Expat Shield are now charging to watch the BBC through it, bit cheeky seeing as they put ads on there too. I'm connected to Laptop Telly now, all the UK channels seem to work fine and without the buffering now. download is ( search LAPTOPTELLY )

Yawn. If you bothered to search the forum you might see how. But as you asked:

Filmon has been up for the last 5 years, and still going stronger than ever.

I've used FilmOn on and off for a few years and found it generally good - especially the choice of channels. One problem though is the quality of some of the live streams - they don't just buffer, they sometimes break down. I still have the subscription but now sometimes use an iPad app called TVPlayer. Probably every bit as illegal but seems to work better (needs a VPN though and of course a crap VPN with low bandwidth is still going to cause problems - I use TunnelBear now which is good, Astrill is also good).

They seem to have some different streams to FilmOn for some of the channels (but the same problem with a few so probably the same stream for some). The only drawbacks are the channel choice - no More 4 - and the fact that some of the channels they offer seem to come and go.

One tip by the way if you're watching UK television in Poland (with VPN or not) is that when the BBC One stream stops, you can (on FilmOn) switch to the BBC One Northern Ireland stream which usually works. TVPlayer had even more regional streams when I last needed to do that so more choice when the main one is down.
