Have never seen packets of 10's in Poland.

All cities are pretty much a much of a muchness, Warsaw obviously the most expensive. If youre looking for cheap short term accommodation then hostels are the way to go.

200 is the most you can take back at a time. You can find Lambert and Butler in Krakow.

Yeah they check you at customs. If you knew someone there you could ask them to send over packs. I have 2000 sent a week, wrapped up in books and sent via normal post.

Gone up now - Poland became a full fiscal member of the EU as of the 1st January last year, and it's now 3200 per person. You can of course take more, but stick to 3200 and you're unlikely to be bothered by Customs. There's no limit as such, but Customs will take the view that if you're carrying more than 3200, you must surely be flogging them.

It's worth noting that if you do get stopped and questioned for carrying more than 3200, make sure that you hassle them to allow you to smoke - they can and will use your lack of needing to smoke against you.

Nothing like when an Englishman walks into an American bar and asks 'how much for fags?', LOL.

I bought some Pall Malls for my wife tonight. They appear to be slightly cheaper.

Or the example I love to use - the Englishman asking the American to "can you pick up some fags on the way home?" :D

Can you get John Player Blue in Poland?

If you can and somebody sends them to me, Il throw you a few quid(50 euro) for your troubles.

Be warned, if you don't smoke and you're pulled by customs, it's quite normal for them to give you a cigarette to see what you do with it. Refusing to smoke it, or showing some sort of intolerance towards the cigarette is a dead giveaway that you intend to sell them.

And whatever you do, don't bother going over 3200 from Poland to the UK. Be also warned that while you can take 3200 from Poland to the UK, that limit doesn't apply if you go home via Germany for instance.

Black only and only at one or two kiosks. They'd probably be as dry as f@ck due to sitting around for ages.

Lambert & Butler and B&H exist, but again nobody buys them. Marlborough are the best bet for taking back or Dunhill which are a bit cheaper.

I was just sayin, walesboy. I guess they would be strict as they tend to be on most things. I remember they didn't allow any excess baggage on the flight from Hiroshima to Tokyo Haneda. They made an exception but at a price that no sensible person would touch.

I can imagine they are strong as phuc too!

Aye, I used to smoke B&H when over in Prague. Only 74 czk.

Its 8.37 euro for a pack of 20 here. All the major brands can be bought on the black market for as little as 3.50, except John Player Blue. You can get them in Spain during peak season, but not in the winter/early spring. :(

We were always told that we are only able to bring back 1,000!

WTF thats less than 2.50? A poxy lighter costs me half that in this overpriced kip.

I have 2000 sent a week, wrapped up in books and sent via normal post.

Its not illegal?

EDIT: If anyone stumbles across an Irish bar or what not selling John Player Blue, PM me and I will financially compensate you for sending them over(50 quid for 1000 plus P&P).
