Born in Poland, living in the uK. Applying for Visa to the USA.

Hi there.

I was wondering how quickly get a Visa for Studying and maybe living in the future in the USA.

I have been born in Poland, I'm living in the UK for about 3 years. I've finished High School in here and now I am attending to College studying IT. I'm 17 so not (old enough) for kind off few things. I could stay in the UK with my Family, but I don't really want to. I would move to USA fastest as it is possible. USA was my dream for bit long time i don't really know why.

So, is there any way i can get Visa (possibly free) for studying and maybe living there after that year of my college? I'll be 18 on 21st Sep. so it is far away, but maybe age doesn't matter at all.

If it is possible, could you recommend me some state where to go. Cheap Life, good University/College etc?

Well, i don't actually care if u r or not xD I'm not going there for every body else but just for me. You can apply. But America being America, you'll either need a good scholarship or a good bit of money available to you. If you want a visa to study in a mediocre community college, it just won't happen. Of course, if you're applying to an Ivy League place, then you won't have a problem. Be warned that America will want proof of considerable financial resources, unless you go down the scholarship route.

As for a free visa - forget it, unless you're on a scholarship which might cover the costs for you.


Much more difficult. A visa for studying is easy enough, but to get a visa to live and work there is incredibly difficult, even for EU citizens with stellar track records.

You need proof you were accepted at a university and paid your tuition fee then apply for a student visa. But don't count on staying here because once your student visa expires you will have to return to Poland, unless you do what thousands of poles do - stay here illegally, and causing problems for other Poles to get visas, who in turn blame America for not abolishing the visa.

Right, is any one orientating how much would it be for Student Visa and Living/Working Visa?

Go to Chicago....there is an entire network of Polish expats there who will help you stay illegally and allow you to never have to speak English even. They have created their own little Poland there...in fact after Warsaw it has the biggest Polish speaking population of any city in the world. I know 5 people who went to Chicago this past year on short term visas with the intent to stay illegally and they did. They were nice so I wouldn't report them but it does **** me off especially given how difficult it was for me to be legal in Poland.

well, stop dreaming and finish your study in UK or Poland and then you can apply for migration visa to USA or try your lack in the green card lottery.

Otherwise just forget it! Being illegal alien in USA make you nobody and fair play for any scum which happens to cross your path!

Without scholarships, you would need around $30,000 for your tuition (for an upper rank university). This sum does not, of course, include the living costs.
Check out collegeboard.com and find out for yourself.

You could just go to a university in the UK,and perhaps come to the U.S. on an exchange program for a semester or two.
