Hello,

Many people who come from Poland to UK (OR from other countries to Poland - they call themselves 'refugees') need an easy guide on how to get the maximum benefits with no or minimal work. So it would be interesting to see some easy to follow slides / charts, something like:

1. I arrived in the UK (or in Poland).

2. Where exactly do I go (maps/addresses/phone numbers would be useful) and what I should tell the officials to get free benefits (be it free money, free accommodation, free health-care, free education, free food).

3. How to make it long term, ie. how to get free benefits in a legal way (so the guide should include some steps about how to gain permanent residence status or citizenship).

4. Once the host country (UK, Poland, other) provided all the available assistance, give guidance on which country I should move next to so that I could repeat steps 1-3 above.

thanks, very helpful.

haha i just re read your message and noticed point 4 - are you serious? why on earth would anyone move to X (say UK) and then move away once the benefits run dry? isn't the whole point of relocating to find a good job, build a better life etc?

No, these days the liberal media push for the real justice - get as much benefits from taxpayers who worked hard to level the playing field. Most 'refugees' don't care which country end up with as long as the benefits are there. Note that there are legitimate immigrants (most Poles are actually legitimate because they go to the UK or other countries to work hard), but the rest ('refugees') are the ones who need to follow and repeat point 1-3 above.

So to answer your original question without prejudice, I'd say that your ideas about opening a bank account and money transfer are important. Other than that, most Poles get to know how to do things from other Poles so I'm not sure what else they would need.

as long as the benefits are there.

Hardly any in Britain now. People have died when their already meagre benefits are cut or stopped. A shame because the previous Labour government raised a million children above the poverty line. This affects a lot of Poles, since they've mostly gone their to poorly paid jobs. Scandalous in one of the richest societies the world has ever known.

Most 'refugees' don't care which country end up with as long as the benefits are there.

They get almost nothing. Surely you wouldn't be anti-immigration now, would you...

bank account opening?

A friend of mine who went to the UK was knocked back by a couple of banks because he couldn't prove his address in the UK. Lloyds allow Poles to open with just a passport/Polish ID. This has earned them a lot of new customers.

isn't the whole point of relocating to find a good job, build a better life etc?

Yes, however inadequates who use phrases like

the liberal media

are just obsessed with immigration anyway and think that everyone's a dole scrounger. Very 'glass half full'.

Thats bollox. They have cut the maximum benefits you can claim to £20000 or £23000 per year per family. 130,000 pln is hardly megre, its more than minimum wage and close to the average wage in the uk.

Really?

They have cut the maximum benefits you can claim to £20000 or £23000 per year per family.

So contradicting yourself already. That's a tiny amount for a family to live on in the UK.

130,000 pln is hardly megre, its more than minimum wage and close to the average wage in the uk.

It's also, by your own admittance, the maximum. Most people are not on the maximum or anything like it.

You also ignore all those people whose salaries are so low they get tax credit, as well as the latest round of Tory cuts restricting child benefit...

And if it's 'hardly meagre' what are all those food banks for?

It needs to happen unfortunately.

People seem to think its ok for a family to get working tax credits when they only work 16 hrs a week for maximum results in benefits.

Yet, a single person has to work a minimum of 30 hrs to be eligible for ANY tax credits ! it's bit unfair considering if they work 25 hrs they get nothing.

People need to work to keep their children its not upto the state.

Nathans's a well known hater and by listening to what he says You get severly missinformed. There's a reason he's not registered (no b*lls). I know a lot of Poles and NONE of them is taking an advantage of benefits while NOT WORKING. Most commonly received is a child benefit while parents/parent is still working, paying taxes and sponsoring(generally) the benefits for those who really need them (ie. disabled people). If You look for benefit frauds look no further but at Brits themselves. Few newspapers including The Sun tried to investigate the "biggest fish" in this procedure. Surprisingly(NOT!) those were Brits fe. claiming that can't walk without an aid and in their spare time planting trees (digging, carrying, etc.) like "young-gods" with a performance that would grant them an employee of the month status in some tree-planting company. Most benefit frauds and cheating is made by Brits and THAT'S A FACT!

I don't know him and judging him on the merit of his post in this thread I think he is not a hater. He seems to have a low opinion about refugees and their motivations but that's hardly a hate.

No one is claiming that in here. I think you are being defensive and with a good reason mind you but still.

Most benefit frauds and cheating is made by Brits and THAT'S A FACT!

It is fallacious argument and one that really doesn't support your case. I would say that frauds are being committed by criminals regardless of their origin.

You wrote:

If you read again my quote you'll realize I wasn't talking about Poles, but about other nations (usually from Africa or Middle East) who take advantage of the system by ripping off British, Polish, or other European taxpayers.

You wrote this in very first sentence:

I actually know more than one Polish person who is claiming benefits for the unemployed whilst working full time, quite a few actually and others who are doing fraud by using other peoples names to claim benefits even one neighbour who has 8 people in a 1 bedroom flat subletting and all claiming housing benefits whilst working full time.

You are probably telling the truth as no nationality is immaculate. Sounds to me more as a problem with too easy an access to and lack of control of handing out benefits... The solution then is to fix the system so it is less prone to cheaters + impose massive fines on offenders - that's the way to fix system which is not working as it should and draining public budgets... relying on peoples' honesty when it comes to freebies combined with no severe consequences simply does not work.

Were you replying to me, well yes the problem with the system is the ones who commit fraud are the ones who get a lot of money whilst good people on benefits get their money stopped or cut down as they are easy targets.

On the news it seems to be more Romanian gangs doing larger crimes so every country has its problems.
