He is required to register and be legal there.

He is legal in the UK: "I am authoriszd to work here in the UK & legally allowed to work/stay until 2012".

pointing out how moronic and racist someone is is not an attempt to enforce PC laws, so seriously, enough with this ridiculous wave of "anti-PC" chivalry. It's not convincing anyone.

You are just one big contradiction.

Immigration is a HUGE issue in the UK at the moment. But really, when hasn't it been? It's been a hot topic all through the second half of the 20'th Century, and at points it has been much more heated than it is today. Just because it is discussed a lot does not mean it is a serious issue. British people simply love to complain about things which, had they even the slightest bit of world awareness, they should realise as being insignificant. For example, there is a ton of whining about how the current government is corrupt and dishonest and inefficient and blah blah blah. Is it? Yes, just like any other government. Is it also one of the most mobile, democratic, rewarding and transparent governments in the world? Also yes. British people are too busy focusing on how bad they have it and how oppressed and stifled they are, but the plain reality is that things are nowhere near as bad as the complaint level. Immigration will continue to be moaned about, and it will continue to be a non-issue, just as it has always been. This country has gone far too long without an invasion or a REAL oppressive regime that people have gotten soft.

Nika

And he asked about marriage benefits which make it obvious he is thinking about his future status. A work visa is temporary.

I could live in Poland or I could in France or I could in India or in India!!! what's all the fuss about? but, I am defintely impressed the role you have taken as the problem solver of a 'third world immigrant'

Ireland and the UK are full Mr "What benefits will marriage to an EU citizen give me". Marrying a woman for "benefits", what a scumbag. Then you have the audacity to claim you are in "love".

When your work permit is no longer valid, go home, you filthy creep.

And Matowy....You do know you can't just say "irrelevant" and make it so right?

I happen to think most of the "OMG that's racist" whining is not "relevant" to anything but the self righteous naivete of the poster.

You haven't addressed anything I said. Nice deflection attempt.

This is starting to bore me, so let's just cut right down to it; the only reason I am entertaining this conversation is because I think you're an intelligent person, and your posts here are of value, and I think you're either in denial or really can't see that which you endorse. Do you honestly, truly, believe that Amethyst/ShelleyS's views, opinions and the way she articulates (I use this term loosely) them is intelligent? I again urge you to peek at her far back post history before you answer. She is not motivated by some desire to improve the quality of her country (which she can't even name properly, let alone state proper facts about) she is just a hate-spewing moron. I am uncertain whether you are endorsing this or something else, so I ask you plainly now. What is the answer?

EDIT: Nevermind, I just caught your edited reply.

Guess what...people are different...races and sexes and classes are different. You can moan about it all you want but there are and always will be differences and many are not good to others in other categories. Deal with it...or keep moaning and protesting.

You obviously have read my posts, cannot formulate a relevant reply to them, and instead decided to choose the easy route of claiming I'm a multi-culture endorsing hippy to try and discredit my statements. I retract what I said earlier about me thinking you intelligent, that is not longer relevant. Straw-men are tools for the weak.

Her alternate account is "ShelleyS".

My first account was Shelley...There you go, everyone can feel free to check out my post history :D (glad at least you acknowledged Im not an "It" ;0) )

If you are bored, go and do something constructive, possibly look at the statistics for the sham marriages in the UK, look at the stats for deporations and look at the nationals that are being deported, or you go wilde and turn off your computer.

You Sir, are a moron, you contradict yourself at every turn - I however prefer to be consistent, just to be clear I dont actually hate anyone, I do however, dislike 3rd world immigrants marrying girls in order for them to gain a more secure status in my country. Im not really in a position to improve anything, but thankfully the government are doing that with the new immigration policies that are being passed, this is however a result of public opinion.

RevokeNice---Can you say something useful? or do you use this forum as a channel to let your frustrations out?, doesn't make any sense at all. What is your problem? Do you have an Indian boss? an 'average, third world country' guy/girl took your job?

yes, over the period of 3 years, I have come to 'love' my polish girl.

And he asked about marriage benefits which make it obvious he is thinking about his future status. A work visa is temporary.

But English is not his native language! Maybe he did not mean marriage benefits as such? You know, it's not always easy to say precisely what you mean in a foreign language.

Im also not sure why Nika thinks it will be so easy for his g/f to get a job in the UK..

I didn't say it would be easy for the girl to get a job in the UK. I said that maybe it would be difficult for her to get a job in India. Please read my posts carefully Amathyst.

If you were really in love with this girl, my third world amigo, you would be asking for a romantic polish phrase to propose with, a typical polish gift gift, or some advice of some sort due to the culture clash. Instead you ask "how will marriage benefit me in europe". I am sorry, I see through you, you are marrying for a visa. Why else would you inofrm us that your visa runs out in less than two years.

Only lowlifes marry women to obtain a visa.

Mar 1, 10, 00:26 - Thread attached on merging:

OK, I concede! cos of a lack of knowledge of a better word, I used the word 'benefits'!!

so much pierdoly & cholera in here about 'some creep from 3rd world country taking YOUR benefits of 250 pounds a month' !!!!

ok, I rephrase,

I want to marry my polish GF..

What happens next? What happens to my status?

Fair enough?!!

oh, I just read your response before the admin closed the thread.
I have already mentioned that I have known her for THREE years, so, I know what I can do & what I can say & what I should do.

And romantic phrases, flowers etc, I have done all that my dear friend from a developed nation. If you need some advice on somethings like that, please feel free to ask me.

If I ever meet a camel, I will ask an indian for advice. Marrying an EU national only gives you leave to remain if she moves to the UK with you. You can only work in the country the EU national currently resides in.

Your English looks fine to me and the context in which you used the word "benefit" fitted exactly what you meant.

I note you are still harping on about your "status" after you marry.

Why come to a forum when there are official sites that give you the correct information.

Nika, my apologies, I didn't thank you in my earlier post.
you hit the nail on its head, i didn't have any 'hidden agenda', I mentioned 'benefits' very casually, now I know I opened a can of worms! there is too much hatred on this forum for foreigners having Polish girls as their girlfriends or partners, could you explain why?

In my posts, I specifically highlighted the part of us being working professionals , and that we have known each other for a while so that the esteemed forum members could understand that it is not a marriage for a passport!!!!

I never for a minute thought that this discussion would go in this direction.

Thanks again

The hatred is because the MAJORITY of people from certain nations marry people from more developed nations for the "upgrade" in life style not because they have any intention of becoming a part of that society.

People get sick of it.

Point 1. You are not on the correct visa, you will not be able to marry her if you are not on a spousal visa.

Point 2. You will not be issued with a spousal visa because she doesnt even reside in the UK.

Point 3. Because neither of you are British, you will have to seek approval to marry from the Home Office.

Point 4. The Home Office do not have to grant their approval.

Point 5. Had 1,000s of 3rd world immigrants not entered in to sham marriages in order to gain a secure status in the UK, people like myself wouldnt get slightly peeved when someone comes on a forum asking about benefits of marrying a EU national.

Why do you say 'they do not have to'?

another article on the same topic of sham marriages, a different perspective. where does this lead to?!!! will 'it' ever end?!

Unfortunately that's what many foreigners that get married and want to live in the UK do it for. It may seem unfair to assume you're doing the same, but if you have a search through this forum and see how many similar threads there are on this subject and you will get an idea how many times people have asked your questions before.

If you want to marry your Polish girlfriend, then great !! I'm very happy for you (seriously) however you have to understand that this country passed full to capacity when it comes to immigrants and the British have had enough ...... and I'm not a racist !!

Ireland and Denmark are taking it to ECHR. Basically, to end sham marriages the couple will have to have spent six months in the EU nationals country of origin before entering the other EU country they wish to settle in together.

This was refused in 2008, but our Justice Minister will appeal. If he wins, you have two options, Poland or India.

The Government, which was supported by several other EU states including Britain and Denmark in the case, had argued that its regulation was necessary to control immigration into the EU due to "strong pressure of migration".It warned that providing non- EU spouses of EU citizens with residency rights would have serious consequences for EU states by bringing about a "great increase" in the amount of people able to gain residency.

Thats a great option! 6 months in India would be bliss for her, we could live there during the winter! my complaint would be about the football games I could miss or stay up late cos of the time difference!

So she would have to give up a well paying job just because you are obsessed with living in the UK. A tad selfish, no?

You would have to live in Poland for six months, not India. You would have to be resident in her EU state of origin before being allowed enter another.

Go get a call center job in Mumbai...you can call yourself "Tom" and frustrate Americans who call in to get their computer serviced. Doesn't that sound like more fun than dreary old UK?
OP incognito007  1 | 11

no! why would you assume that this would be only MY decision?! It was a thought!!!
I feel it wasn't selfish at all, it would be a great break for her to live in India during the worst possible weather!, but all this won't be done at the expense of her career or job!! especially in these hard times.

But, what did I say that made you assume that I am obsessed with living in the UK?
I have 'lived' in Poland in December & in Feb, and It is not a problem for me to stay in Poland as well, and we had agreed that 'taking a break' in India during the winter is the best.

Anyways, thanks for the input abt the legal immigration aspect.

Your missus has a good job in Poland. Why dont you move over to Poland for the woman "you love"?

Taking a break in India? I hope she took all her shots.

Taking a break in India? I hope she took all her shots.

That's a rather daft and unhelpful comment. Of course she will get the required injections, malaria tablets etc. You make it sound like it is something sinister.

I've been to India and had all that shots as you call them. Visiting India is a real experience and one I hope to repeat.
