To the UK-ers on PF...have you noticed any discernible differences amongst the migrants from the 8 different new Central-East European EU states in terms of work ethic, money management, sociability, pastimes, English language skills, etc.? Or can they by and large be safely lumped together?
Do East-Central European migrants in the UK differ?
OK, I'm from Ireland but I'd imagine this would apply in the UK too: here, the majority of Poles that have arrived appear to be professionals (architects, engineers etc) whereas the majority of Lithuanians, Latvians seem to be labourers, cleaners - not out of necessity it seems, that's what they were in their home country too. From what I can see Lithuanians & Latvians seem to have ended up more ghettoised too where the Poles have integrated much better.
Or can they by and large be safely lumped together?
I tend to lump them together ie. they're all pretty much just here for the cash.
Only the Russians have made a positive impression in the UK as they brought there lots of cash.
Yea the Brits should make a huge Stalin monument infront of the Buckingham palace as a big THANK YOU Russia for bringing the mafia to our country!!!!
they're all pretty much just here for the cash.
now you got them einstein. before you exposed their true intentions everyone thought they came to sing songs in english
I meant that all they come here is for the cash, which is why they don't integrate or care about their surroundings. It's all about the cash; ideally free cash in the form of state handouts.
Don't worry, MisterH. Donald Tusk has promised that, with Poland under his rule, Polish
immigrants will start coming back to Poland en masse (and as we all know Donald Tusk
always keeps his promises.)

Do they differ in what way?
East Europeans have usually high cheeks.
front or back?

That's good to know :)

Does he ? (Wasn't sure if you were being sarcastic)
don't integrate or care about their surroundings.
Eh? There no city in Poland as dirty as London - don't tell me that you blame it on the foreigners.
Anyway what happened that after temporary absence you rise again beast of the generational?

I see, its a typical trait of the eastern Europeans.

I blame the Russians!!!

Mister H, what a moron! Yes, Poles claim millions of pounds in state hand-outs from the UK tax payer! If you believe that you probably also think the earth is flat and you are a well rounded individual without chips on your shoulders.
******* tool of the first order.
And before you say anything about Polish people who work in the UK; I have worked since 2005 with Poles and continue to do so throughout. My children attend school with Polish classmates and I get along with their parents just fine and they are also my neighbours. Never a problem with them, unlike some other Non European ethnic minorities I could mention.
Why single out Poles when there are more threatening issues from Non-Europeans in the UK?

Really!? Wow, silly me - I thought they are all here for the epic British weather and the royal family... ;-)
