admit finally that the guy is an idiot

What if the whole thing was staged? There was something fake about that little tantrum.

There was something fake about that little tantrum.

You mean he wasn't really upset and knew exactly what he had done wrong? Wow, who would have guessed that.

With the cameras rolling, why would somebody act like that? It just doesn't seem natural for a man, especially to throw about his arms like that.

Polish guy got nervous, who wouldn't? Camera on your face, you feel like you're screwed.

Mick , I am glad you noticed that and described the situation in a reasonable way not seeing it as one dimensional situation.

It`s good that you have mentioned that too.

On the top of this I sense you feel like British people look down on Polish people. Have you had a bad experience in the past?

I am the most law abiding person on earth. I was maybe stopped 3-4 times in my entire life and only for speeding up and the policemen were always very polite to me I never questioned their decisions I always agreed with them I showed my professional card , we smiled to each other and I drove away with wishes of a pleasant journey. I respect and appreciate them and their work.

Looking down on people requires some comment from me.

That`s the reason the program shouldn`t be aired on TV.

I can`t understand that mocking on other nations is acceptable in Britain in the media.

Probably it`s because you come from different cultural circles where people can be mocked around just to make others laugh.

Laughing is good but it all depends on the situation . You can laugh at each other, whatever you like, but if you try to laugh at other nation it is unacceptable for one important reason - this causes forming stereotypes of the whole nation which is unfair and chauvinistic.

The standards of BBC as a national TV station should be an example of fairness and high standards. My opinion has been different for some time but since I have found out about the recent defamatory program about Poland my opinion has drastically changed and now I view it as some kind of a trash TV station looking for some cheap audience .

Look at Sasha Cohen and his roles in which he mocks other nations. My advice for him would be - go ahead and mock your Jewish compatriots, your family and your mother and so on.

He does something very disturbing, he provokes people to racists acts . Such morons as him should be laid off and stay jobless for their entire life.

Poland represents other standards these days. If someone tries to mock other nation then he loses his job, no excuses. Vide - the ESKA Rock hosts of morning talk show carried by two obnoxious people whose sense of humor was funny only for them. Thanks that the directors fired them finally.

Poles don`t look down on other nations and I am appalled by the magnitude of bashing Poles in Britain. This TV cop show is just a small example off adding to such stereotypes.

I am sorry that some of you can`t see it.

Do you think we don`t have stereotypes about British people here in Poland ? We do .
They are just taken straight from Charles Dickens novels and do you think they are flattering; no they are not , they are way far from that.

But because of that do we look down on you British people? No.

You could notice it during Euro 2012 where Polish people welcomed all of you with open arms, showing great hospitality and friendliness. Was it because you are perfect, of course not, but because we are just different from you and have far better values.

Nobody is looking down on this driver because he is Polish: we are looking down on him because he is a cretin who thinks that him being hungry is a valid reason to put lives at risk and because he is so pathetic he thinks crying will make the police let him off.

If the guy was in fact British instead of Polish, this forum would be much more brutal towards him. Can you imagine the response if a stiff upper lipped Brit acted like that? It might have been funnier though since it is along the lines of British humor. This incident with the Polish driver fits the criteria as well.

The thing about it is the Polish man is acting the exact opposite of what is expected of men in the British culture.

You are just a senseless person who does not understand a thing from what I`ve just written above .

What was funnier for you : his body language , his English language or maybe something else ? What amused you the best , tell me , Harry .

What amused you the best ,

where he started going BOO HOO BOO HOO WAH WAH WAH with no tears on his face - what a classic. - or possibly where his trousers fall down, not sure....

British humor.

exactly PP

but because we are just different from you and have far better values.

Monia the rudest people I have met IN MY LIFE have been POlish people in UK laughing and joking about the appearance of everyone around them, in the arrogant belief that nobody could possibly understand them,.

That is real fact.

Do you judge Polish people as a whole nation by some morons who had no manners . Sometimes people become acting like animals while abroad . Look at some Brits visiting Poland .

Do you think that I judge all Poles by the same standards? There are some morons in our country too . There are quite few of them . But is this a reason to judge and stereotype Poles on some TV show .

This single TV show stereotypes Poles as: law offenders , strange and ridiculous coming from the land of potato .What a masterpiece production . The level of the drama added by those cops can only be compared to Hitchcock movies .

Do it in your TV but use your own morons to make you laugh . That would be healthier approach .

BTW I have never seen in any Polish TV show a scene where some foreigner would be ridiculed .

well obviously not, or I wouldn't have any Polish friends by now, would I?
I thought we were dealing in sweeping generalizations though? I quote....

but because we are just different from you and have far better values.

He wasn't being ridiculed for being foreign, but for being a dick.
and you yourself come over as spiteful, petty, jealous and irrational.....I bet you came to UK and couldn't get a job, or possibly thought you were too good for the jobs on offer.

just saying.

Have to agree with you on that one. I was out in a pub with my mate and overheard a group of Poles taking the **** out of other people in the bar, talking in Polish of course, and eventually they came round to making a few disparaging comments about me and my mate. They got the shock of their lives wehn I walked over to them and said "Cześć! Skąd jesteście w Polsce?"

Had a similar experience with a group of English football fans in Germany in 2006. I was sat outside a bar having a few beers with a load of my mates and we were chatting away in Polish and they were sat a couple of tables away mouthing off and throwing a few insults our way. They weren't expecting someone to give them a gobful back in a broad Yorkshire accent.

BTW I have never seen in any Polish TV show a scene where some foreigner would be ridiculed .

I have but they were ridiculing the Russians so that's ok ;)

Indeed there are, however you are just moaning, Monia. Moaning when there is no need to. The issue of the guy's citizenship is irrelevant. The fact that he was acting like some sort of jerk and waving a knife at the police in the presence of cameras is not. If he was less of a cretin he wouldn't have got in that situation in the first place, much less have behaved in the bizarre way he did.

An obsession with how other people judge your nationality as a whole is bizarre and suggests an inferiority complex. And of course others with the same sort of feeble mindset might judge your nationality on the basis of morons like that Polish driver; not a great ambassador for his country.

Be careful what you wish for...

Monia, I didn't find it at all funny. Pathetic yes, although not as pathetic as the attempts here to defend him.

BTW, wasn't there recently a case on Polish TV where the host made racist jokes about one of the contestants?

PP, The Police in question are specialist Traffic Police, like your Highway Patrol, they are not there to engage in anything other than traffic situations unless an emergency comes up and they are called off the highways as back up for other coppers. So, they are doing exactly what we want them to do.

It doesnt matter how an accident is caused,if it has been noted as a cause of needless accidents isnt it a good idea to try and cut down on them?

As for rest stops, you are aware the UK is smaller than most of your States arnt you?

There are *truck stops* every 10 to 20 miles on all major routes ,and exits off the major highways every couple of miles ,non major routes dont have hard shoulders so he could have parked anywhere within 10 minutes or so driving.

Ive already stuck up for his melt down earlier so Im not going to repeat that beyond saying he was obviously very tired,if anything the cops were easy on him letting him drive off,if it had been my call Id have detained him for questioning (ie,let him have a few hours kip in the cells before *losing* the paper work and letting him on his way). :)

The Poles were ridiculed by this guy and that`s why it shouldn`t be aired in order not to raise any prejudices against my nation , that`s what I was pointing out . Is it so hard to understand ?

I have no intention to go to your country , been just once for a visit ( in Southampton for yachting invited by my Polish friend) . He is a dentist there not a cleaner . I have no intention to take your jobs . You are just hysterical here . There are 37+ million people living in Poland and do you think that all of us want to overtake your jobs .You sound ridiculous and funny with such accusation. I have a satisfying profession , getting much more money than I could make in your country , so my intention is to stay here and work for my country . No need to worry , sleep well.

I can`t understand that mocking on other nations is acceptable in Britain in the media

Starting to get the feeling that there are some undercurrents of ... something... between Britain and Poles, or well, anyone not British...

And I don't like feeling that any nation of peoples could be like that.

The standards of BBC as a national TV station should be an example of fairness and high standards. My opinion has been different for some time but since I have found out about the recent defamatory program about Poland my opinion has drastically changed and now I view it as some kind of a trash TV station looking for some cheap audience .

After the stink the BBC aired calling Poland a land of racists and all during the EURO... Yup, not thinking as highly of BBC as I used to.

I think the truck driver was an actor. Point blank. Paid off to act that way so that some people can have a cheap laugh at the expense of the stupid Poles who keep "stealin' our jobs".

Also, reminds me of when, during my honeymoon in Poland in 2003, BBC was covering news of the day of Europe and the only thing to come out of Poland was a group of kids "terrorizing" a teacher by dumping a waste basket filled with crumpled paper over his head and standing around and laughing at him. I know people personally in the US who've done far far worse to teachers. Back then, I thought, "Oh funny! THAT"S terrorizing a teacher?! I mean, my kid would be in trouble, but really, that's the big news out of Poland for today?" Now, I'm thinking, wait, that was the big news out of Poland that day? Nothing else was supposedly going on for the BBC to mention in their 10 minute quip about Europe News of the day? I eye that now with suspicion and will venture so far as to say that there was an agenda behind that.

As there is with this video.

And I think some people need to grow up because really, we have nothing better to occupy our times with than a stupid video of someone doing something stupid? Maury Povitz and Jerry Springer type of tv up your alley, ey?

youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=brj2UkUPjCI

Just to be sure some people understand what I'm saying here, here you go. Dude, they took your job.

Please can we all stop fighting?! Jeez. There just is NO need for it.

The program is to show people who drive badly. There are lots of situations where Brits are driving like bells and get arrested. They drive away and they get chased. Or they do something else stupid.

The guy in this scene is Polish. I don't know how many other scenes there are with Polish people on Youtube or whatever but I imagine (not sure though) not that many. I think the Polish people are a little too hurt though here because he is made to look like a fool. Of course, the BBC saying like 'Kingdom of Potatoes' or whatever should not be said. Saying that, it is just a little joke, I don't think there is any harm meant. I understand Polish peoples frustration here that this gives British people an image of Polish people being lower tier or something, and I won't deny it, SOME do think that, which is unfortunate.

However, you guys need to lighten up a bit. Just a bit. There is no racial hatred going on here or anything close to it.

People saying that Polish people are rude, yes, they are. British people are rude, but they won't do it in public as much. Why? Because a lot of the Polish people speak english. That's the answer. I speak Japanese and every now and then, my Mum says something bad about someone (not like REALLY bad) in public. It's the same in this situation.

If English wasn't a world wide spoken language, you would be doing the same too. Let's not kid ourselves that we are nice people who don't bad mouth others in public as much. If no one spoke our language, we would do it. That's it.

Saying that, not airing something because they are Polish is just stupid. Polish people demanded minutes silence in Nottingham when the Polish President passed away in that airplane crash. They want attention in the Uk, and for the British people to respect them for what they want, in Britain and some British people didn't/don't like this. I understand Polish people want to be respected more, but you can't have it one way, and when one Polish man does something wrong, it shouldn't be aired.

I personally think people read into this too much. It's a 5 minute clip on probably a 30 minute show or a 60 minute show. So there are a hell of a lot of situations, and the Polish people have decided they are victims because of these 5 minutes. We got to grow up.

It's the individuals reaction I believe people laugh at. Thinking about it, its horrible but it is just a little bit of comedy I think on the British side. It's just the same as the stereotype 'All British girls are fat and ugly' etc. Just a bit of a joke.

There is no way there is any form of racism involved in this. There is no need to get angry about it and no need to defend him so much.

Could be, I thought about it too , because he didnt say any word in Polish .

I think that this scare really pertains that job issue , because one poster has just accused me of trying to steal British jobs and that woke me up and made me thinking how poisoned their minds are and how square minded and insulated they are , believing in those lies they hear about Poles from their cheap and primitive TV productions . People who come here for a visit are so surprised that Poland is such a nice country that makes me realise what they hear and watch about Poland are just lies.

Of course I can't confirm, but I really doubt that he was an actor. It's just not something they would do. Other parts of the programs show car chases etc and I don't think BBC would stoop even that low to get some shots.. I really don't.

I don't think BBC are bad people to that level. Please don't think that they are REALLY bad just because of some programs they post wrong. Even their Panorama documents was based on 'facts' although the way they presented it was very poor.

I believe he does speak in Polish in the car but I may be wrong.

Monia, you are right. British people are FULL of hatred right now because of that whole job issue. That wasn't started by the BBC or the Government but in my opinion the public. There are people ranting on about Polish and Black people 'invading THEIR' country on youtube. Women have been jailed for it for racist abuse in the past year.

Groups like EDL do not help either!

All very true. The program is just about a day in the life of the motorway police. They will stop anyone who they believe are breaking the law. It would most likely, be someone from the UK, or occasionally a foreign driver from west, central or eastern Europe. The person who put this small clip on You Tube probably found this funny, or couldn't believe what was going on, and give a misrepresentation of the whole TV show.

That was your saying and please don`t lie again and imrove your reading skills in your native language . That`s not surprising you are scared of your jobs if you don`t even comprehend in your monther`s tonque.

Sorry , but I need to go to work tomorrow , so I prefer to have some sleep rather than answering your stupid remarks . The whole program on BBS was so phony that what surprises me more that many of you beleve in that made up story .
