So sad they had nobody to help them....

The man has since been identified as that of Polish national Bartlomiej Jakub Bozek 33. A post-mortem revealed he had been hanged.

His girlfriend Karolina Wasilewski, 28, also Polish, was the tenant of the flat. The cause of her death is still unclear.

So sad they had nobody to help them....

"Det Supt Singh said: "We know that both Bartlomiej and Karolina had links with the Polish community in Bradford so it's very likely that the information they have could be particularly useful to our enquiries

Hope some one comes forward, though I have a horrible feeling this is going to have an all to familiar feel once more is revealed.

Ah,but this wont atract the usual animals though,by all acounts a murder- suicide/death through misadventure- suicide wasnt it? When the police got there they couldnt even tell the gender of the person on the floor and only knew the person found hung was male. Both, white, christian Poles,so,like I say,the hatefull ones will stay away.

Anyhow,a couple younger than me is dead before their time, thats sad and I hope their families find some comfort somewhere.

They don,t yet know the cause of death of the Polish woman , but the fact her boyfriend hung himself does suggest she did not just choke on her cornflakes....

Thats why I edited WR. Sorry about initial post.
As speculation is bound to flourish on here anyway,i'll jump in first in a non judgemental, too many people I used to know are poss in similar situations....From the photos, Id speculate its likely drugs were involved(and for many months tbh) an OD followed by a guilt/grief stricken suicide.

Either way, lets not cast judgements on the 2 of them 2 relativly young people have died a long way from their families ,your right, its a shame no one was there to offer the right help.

I must confess my first thoughts were that she had maybe died of a drugs overdose , and he after some time in denial went and hung himself...

I guess all the facts will come out soon enough , its just so sad two young people died all alone in some dingy flat so far from home....

I suppose if they were drug addicts their friends were also , and its very difficult to help anyone that does not want to be helped....

Were they drug addicts when they left Poland , or did they sink into this in a bad area after failing to find work...?

I find it hard to imagine somebody who was on drugs in Poland making the effort to go to the UK , what would be the point , you can get drugs in Poland...

Two lives wasted.... such a pity..

My first thoughts, nasty but still, would be that he killed her for some reason and killed himself after.
Many of the murders commited on Poles in UK turn out to have Poles as perpetrators. Sad Truth..

it could be, but I cant imagine why he wouldnt call for help for her if this did happen
I know things happen, but it says they are linked to another polish community, do they
live in a polish community now? or are they in a mixed area?

its still to fishy, cause there is no note.. you would think if things were that bad and she
died from overdose, and he was feeling responsible , that he might have at least left
a note for his family.. explaining why .. but I think her tox report will show nothing.

I think he was involved in stuff and she was unfortunately in the way, I think others are
involved.

Thats not so suprising , the Poles tend to stick together in the areas they live and work in , and tend to socialise mostly with other Poles....

The Police say they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths , so they must think the answer lies in that flat...

The flat was in an area of Bradford called Manningham , its the area where the Yorkshire ripper found many of his victims , its not the kind of area you would choose to live in if you had any choice...

Its the kind of place you would only choose to live if you were a drug dealer or prostitute , or some young worker from another country that did not have the money to go anywhere better....

Heroin does funny things to people I suppose is the sanitised answer, and no,Im not speaking from literaly personal experience but from having known too many decent(and some utter *****s) people getting caught up with this vile drug, for all sorts of reasons, often not through lack of education ,"breading/upbringing",or any other stereotype. Nice middle class kids who after getting hooked would sell anyone or anything just to get high. Ive heard of addicts who witness close freinds even loved ones overdosing or discover them after the fact who have disapeared on 3/4 day benders getting high in bedsit land never once reporting the death....its an evil drug.

I suppose if these theories prove correct the next step will be well who supplied them.....ultimatly its Bradford so that chain only leads in one way...

If both of these young people were addicts , you have to wonder where the money for the drugs came from...?

As i said , this area is known for drugs and also prostitution , was his girlfriend the one who earned the money for the drugs...?

After she died , his main concern would not be reporting her death , but where is his next fix coming from....

If she was the one paying for the drugs with sex , then its likely that some very unpleasant people were going to turn up in the near future wanting cash for the drugs...!

I have a bad feeling these people did not go to the UK as junkies , its something that happened to them after they got there....

Thats about as valid as anyones guess right now.
face it,all we really know is that two people are dead. The young woman probably died first as Police had trouble identifying her gender suggesting she had been dead rather longer than the man. And that they lived in a crappy part of a generally crappy city.

May their God bring them peace.

well,drugs ..

If both of these young people were addicts ,

nope, in reading this over and over and seeing that the area is not a good area,
I think they were just a regular couple that were trying to make ends meet in a bad
neighborhood, theres alot of stories similar, there was another couple found and
two young children found alone and the parents were dead, and another polish
lorry driver in same area, town.

I dont doubt that who ever did this might have wanted money from them for drugs
but I dont think it was them.

The area itself is a bad area, and this story screams homicide.

and this story screams homicide.

Do you mean somebody killed both of them....?

Why would they kill the woman , then wait a few weeks before killing the guy , and hanging is not a usual way to murder somebody..?

I have seen several episides of Columbo , and one or two miss Marples investigations , this along with a whole year of watching the Bill makes me very well qualified to solve this case...

A new report today says that the body of the man was discovered when a rent collector went to the flat about unpaid rent...

The body of the woman was found by Police who searched the flat , it was wrapped in plastic bags and hidden under a bed....

It was also repeated that the Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with these deaths...

Its not yet known how the woman died....

I could give so many reasons just from the photos alone but I wont out of belated respect for them, but the signs are there for drug use.

Merged: Polish woman found dead in suitcase

A very sad story:

A young woman might still have been alive when she was stuffed into a suitcase and thrown into a city canal, a court heard.
The body of Marta Ligman , 23, was found in the case floating in the Grand Union Canal in Little Venice in north west London 10 days after it had been dumped.
Prosecutor Tim Cray said the victim, a delicatessen shop assistant, had been badly beaten

Indeed very sad case.

Remembers me the case of the poor polish woman raped and badly beaten by a Pakistani in Dublin (he already had raped a Irish and a mexican girl).

The pattern was quite disgusting:

"Those three victims - a 29-year-old Irish woman, a 23-year-old Polish woman and a 23-year-old Mexican woman - were all blonde-haired and walking home by themselves in the early hours of the morning when Dar approached and attacked them."

In the middle of the XXI Century, people still behaving like that is very sad.

I wonder why. There are very few similarities between the cases.

Odd that the threads are merged since the cases are different. Maybe amend the thread title?

No similarities whatsoever as far as I can see, but it is a very sad story. I hope her killer is put away for a very long time.

Yes. The worst one I read about was that poor young woman up in Scotland who was buried under a church floor (and may have been alive when she was put there). The guy who did it (called I think Tobin) is fairly high on the list of suspects for being 'Bible John' back in the 60s.

My interest isn't the grizzly crimes, but more about people's journey in life when they go to a different country. Fortunately the horror stories like this are balanced by many more much nicer ones, but of course they don't make such interesting headlines

Unfortunately the Pakistani guy that killed and raped the poor polish woman is out of jail, as for the record.

He said that if the court condemned him, it would be Islamophobia....

If you read the link that YOU actually provided, you will see that he is still in prison.
BTW, would you stop trying to pollute the forum with your hatred for Muslims etc, your post had nothing to do with Jon's original thread, and now it is merged, still has nothing to do with the thread title.

There's also the case of that Polish bloke (helped by his Polish mate) who buried his girlfriend alive.

Merged: Poles victims of attacks in UK

A Polish man died in just 31 seconds after he was the victim of a "chilling" act of random violence in a street in Birmingham, a court heard.

Lukasz Furmanek, 24, and his friend Radoslaw Dudek crossed the path of their "pumped-up" knife-wielding attackers moments before they were stabbed, it was claimed.

Both victims suffered multiple stab wounds.

Mr Furmanek died from his injuries, while Mr Dudek was left clinging to life and was only saved by "heroic" medical efforts.

Abdullah Atiqzoy, 18, and a 16-year-old had both tried to flee the country after the attack, Birmingham Crown Court was told.
