British workers filling majority of low-skilled job openings - welcome back home, Poles!

The radio phone in show today described the arrival on a building site of several Poles offering to work at rock bottom wages ...will they now work for below rock bottom wages?? Come back home, I say! We have lots of rock bottom paid work here!

We also have a minimum wage - something that people fought for. Though that's pretty close to rock bottom anyway.

The consumer wins - right?

If British are becoming bigger part of low payed workers in Britain that either because less immigrants come or because now immigrants get better payed jobs.

were all consumers, its just that some can afford to consume more than others.

Sure - and when our compatriots return to Wroclaw, Warsaw and places in between, they will consume that little bit more - leaving poor old sods like us, living in MaleMiasteczko, to pick up the meanest of jobs - if there are any. Maybe the Brits can keep them

As long as the builders are sober enough to do it right maybe.

Though people fought long and hard for certain standards of wages and if salaries are constantly forced down, who will the consumers be? Pixies?
