Now we will have to clean our own toilets and get our unemployed to pick celery. Oh no what will britian do. It it will be like the year 2000 before poland came into the EU. OH GOD NO !
I'm not talking about what the article said about Poles leaving Britain - I'm talking about how that article is just one of many going on and on about a coming recession. The more they all talk it up, the more likely it will be to happen.
As well as that, there are the usual stereotypes, blah blah blah. Hard working Poles, blah blah blah. Lazy Brits, blah blah blah. We've got some very hard-working Poles at work. We've also got some very hard-working natives too. We have had lazy Poles too, but they don't hang around for long because in some jobs you can't get away with being lazy for long.
There are a few Poles at work who I'd be sad to see go back to Poland - their efforts have been greatly appreciated and will hopefully continue to be appreciated, along with their friendliness and sense of humour. I'll be going for a few drinks in the near future with one Polish colleague and his family who will be visiting him. Will I have to visit him in Poland for the next round of drinks? Maybe I'll be too poor (recession recession recession bollox recession)...

Poor little noimmigration (who thinks the mass murder of Polish people is _funny_!!!!!) doesn't have anyone safe to look down on. Poor wittoo him. What is him gonna doo now?
I just wanna know what would actually happen if all the Poles went home? Nothing cos we have enough Bulgarians, Romanians and soon croatians in our country. The Poles going home - big deal!
Well, where do I start. 1939 Hitlar invaded Poland. A large Majority of the Polish Home Army Escaped west eventually reaching Africa whish was under allied control. They were shippped to the UK via France thinking that they were going to be supported and flown into Warswawa to support the uprising, but no, they where asked to fight in France, Italy, Holland, whllst there countrymen where being slautered b y the Nazi's.
The Polish Fee Army, fought at Monti Cassino and Arnhem (the last battle ever lost by Brirish Forces), yet they were denined the chance to march at the 1945 VE day march becuase Stalin didnt want then to.
Genral Stansilav Sobarskow dieid in Poverty in the UK, in 1963, because hecould not return home.
BRITAIN What do the Poles owe us. NOTHING, we owe them
If anyone ever gets the chance to travel through Holland, please visit, the Polish Airborne Monument at Driel, and the Oosterbeek Airborune Cemetery,
The grave at the Cemetrey, simply say
Polish Forces
and then their name. They ae not in the main body of graves, but to the left and right of the main gate, as a result of them field graves being exhumed and the body's being deiven to Poland to be laid at rest only to be allowed entry at the border.
The people of Gelderland (holand) welcomed the bodies back and laid them to rest at Oosterback.
The subject of this thread (there have been similar threads before, but let's read each title a little more closely) is what have the Poles who came to the UK in recent years done for the UK?
They came here in quite large numbers, not just looking for handouts as some groups of immigrants have done in recent times (whether these groups intended to live off benefits or not).
They provided the country with labour that was not expensive to pay, whilst their pounds translated into a reasonable number of zlotys.
They came here as the first large group of European immigrants the country has seen in a long long time. (Comapring them to the large scale migrations from South Asia and the Caribbean).
They came here with the expectation amongst themselves and amongst us Britons, that many wouldn't stay long-term.
You can now find Polish beer in pubs and off-licences and Polish food in supermarkets.
Some people here have made good friendships with Poles who they have worked with or socialised with.
Of course there are the noimmigrations of this world, but they're not going to like anyone, so **** 'em. Look for good things in life, not hatred of people who are different or the prophecy of recession.
Of course ur right osiol but will the Poles going home really make a diff to our country? What have they really contributed to British society? My home city Cardiff has a big Polish community but they are completely shrouded in mystery as they keep themselves to themselves. They buy their food from the Polish shop(for a considerably higher price) they go to their own Polish discos and generally refuse to mix with the Brits.
This is no different to the chinese or the Somalians which is why I dont know whay so much fuss is made about the Poles. Compared to other nations such as Pakistan and India, Poland has not even caused a ripple on the ocean.

Poland is bigger and has a bigger population than the other A8 countries. This means that the number of Poles who came here is matched by all of those from the other new EU member states put together. Poles are going home. Are Slovaks, Czechs, Lithuanians doing likewise?
Some things like buying the same food but with a Polish label does show a bit of a lack of sense, or extolling the wonderfulness of Polish food out of a jar when there is the possibility of cooking better food (Polish or otherwise) using better ingredients from non-Polish shops also seems silly to say the least.
I think it's in the nature of large groups of migrants that they will stick together. I've known a small number of Poles who have left the Polish sphere over here. I also notice that some of those who are here from countries with a smaller migrant group, don't have so much of an option of all sticking together.
In my home town, if all of the Poles were to leave, we'd hardly notice the difference.
The roles were reversed and the UK was the poorer and more newly free country and Poland was the wealthy Western place with tons of UK immigrants there the Poles would be saying the same things and complaining about all the Brits. Poland does not have that many immigrants and the ones they do have from poorer places get looked down upon just as they do anywhere. The moral superiority doesn't fly. I don't see the Africans here in Poland talking about how they are smarter and harder working than the locals and I am sure they came from much more difficult conditions than any of us.
I agrre with what gtd said though, too many Poles on here love telling us how much more intelligent they are, how much more beautiful their women are and how much harder working thay are than the native British population. Im sure the same people wpuldnt like us flooding their country and saying the ame thing.

this is going to be funny , poland welcome to europe :) but in two years time west europe will give you back a few hundred or africans, asian and latino americans
poland will be like england , france , spain or italy. welcome to europe
Having read the article mentioned and read similar topics on here and elsewhere, I can't help but feel that will a little more planning on behalf of the Polish themselves and, dare I say some control on the numbers by the British Government, maybe less would have come, but more of those would have stayed.
The "come one, come all" approach was never going to work. Will the British Government change their immigration policies as a result ? Unlikely.
However, I hope those Polish who return to Poland do so a bit richer and a lot wiser.
I just wanna know what would actually happen if all the Poles went home? Nothing cos we have enough Bulgarians, Romanians and soon croatians in our country. The Poles going home - big deal!
Of course unlike If some guy selling choclate would leave Poland... That would be disaster...
Hey I am not one of these people saying Polish are somehow 'cowards' (though I have been accused) or that Poland and Poland alone has all the bad qualities of humanity....I am only saying own up to the things that ARE wrong.
And my point about Africans in Poland was dismissed by Filios as "there arent many Africans here in the first place"..Obviously! But how does that change the point? In the future when there ARE enough immigrants here for people to start being annoyed you will know how others feel when they have a ton of Polish immigrants. I would bet a huge sum of money that Poland will not extend the same respect and courtesy to tons of immigrants on Polish soil as they desire abroad. I think when Poles have their own "economic or labor" immigrants in large numbers they will act just like any other place that does. In fact...I never saw a lot of respect and admiration for the asians at Stadion before it was shut down nor do I see Kebab shop owners being treated so wonderfully.
I just want honesty and reality rather than blind patriotism and arrogance...from ALL people.
