In Newport south Wales the Tesco and the Wetherspoons both stock Polish beer, it’s no more expensive than equivalent beers, the reason it appear expensive to Polish people is because of the UK tax which is higher than Poland, and of course it has to be imported.
In Cheltenham Tesco stocks beer and a limited range of Polish foods, and there are 2 Polish owned shops in the town with a more comprehensive range, again Wetherspoons stocks Polish beer.
So Polish foods and alcohol are available, when I was in Aberdeen in March the story was the same.
Personally I find Polish beers too strong in alcohol
I’m sure you are a big strong boy Greg, but if you met me I’m sure your first opinion wouldn’t be that I was a *****. I can drink for two, but it isn’t a trait that I particularly admire in myself or others, it’s just that I was brought up in a tradition where beer of 3.2% was quite normal and 4.2 was considered strong- stronger alcohol was available either as wine or spirits but was treated with due respect for its potency.
We have a term in the UK ‘session beer’, Polish beers don’t fit that description
thanks wroc - so i wasnt confused... for a change...
... yeah... they pump it full of chemicals... drinking that and then getting up to go to work was not a good idea...
Not tried EB maybe next time Im over Ill check it out
dont bother :)
Pilsner Urquel or Staropramen
top beers [and spelt right] but RADAGAST is the god of beer... do the pilgramage... climb the mountain to worship at his statue and then go back down to drink a litre of his beer...
and when i first went to poland eveyone was drinking ten point five... i even got a t-shirt... now i dont see it anywhere...
Christ, I even forgot abut that beer. It was good once, but then somehow it became crappy. It's a real pity though. As for EB, I always wondered who actually buys that beer. Iit truly is a horrid one, just like Okocim. :)

I know you aren't serious.....are you?
American beers kill me
Stop following the heard and drinking the American crap :) We all don't like Coors, Budweiser and Miller. There are THOUSANDS of American micro brewery's. I get a lot of this when I'm overseas. So yes...drink the crap and it's Hammer time :)
What about Czech beer pilsner. Czech are suppose to make he best beer, above poland. I prefer strongbow than polish beer. I only like polish beer ebcauses its cheap and ok i guess. I took one can from the supermarket in Poland and some polish woman muttered something in polish to me and grinned and walked off, no idea what she said....................probably you alcoholic english so n so lol.

As far as I know all Wetherspoon pubs [including Lloyds No. 1] stock Tyskie, Okocim and Zywiec. If my local Wetherspoons is anything to go by you'll find two bottles of Polish beer in the fridge. It's GBP2.10 for a 500ml bottle although last month they were doing it for GBP1.99 as an Independence Day special offer.
I tried a few english beers but there are much worse than Zywiec, Lech and especially Tyskie. I call english beers "****" ;) because they are so tasteless and weak. No suprise that polish beers are so popular abroad.
