Not all is bad for Poles in Scotland!

Raising the minimum wage would be a stupid idea. It should rise in line with inflation. 5.85 is over 20PLN. There are quite a few Poles here that would be happy to make that. It's a decent hourly rate for some here. Why should a fish filleter get any more than that?

the kids are paid by tax credits but jsa comes from tax payers money

I will wager you are getting far more from the state than you are paying.

Many Poles just quietly get on with their jobs, safe in the knowledge that they know what they are doing.

this is why many my friends are poles and i work wiht them long time now they are family orientated and work for much less than we would so they aint so bad they just get done what is needed to do and some of them send money home to provide for familys only differnece with us and them is some are away from tehir kids by 100,s of miles
Times have changed and getting a job is a major undertaking for many graduates. It's all very well saying that they should get a job but free will only goes so far. Not all of us can walk into jobs paying 100 grand a year or 500 grand a year. There has to be realism. Trust me, I've known many well-qualified people (with postgrads and great management exp) that have struggled. Luck was on their side in the end.

i feel sorry for those folk teachers i think are in there and i dont feel it isfair for all the years of hard ork dosent get to pay off am not heartles honestly and think things should be changed to help folk in those circumstances as they shouldnt let the courses be ran if they cant guarrantee them work xxxx
Not at all.

Read then: theinternetpatrol.com/studies-find-internet-web-use-makes-people-rude/

The internet doesn't show how you'd be in a class, let's say.

I'd be how I'm expected to be. I certainly would not tell my teacher what I think about him (well, maybe in some extreme cases) :)

You still haven't got the wind-up notion yet

I think I've got enough :)

as you over-analyse things.

No, I don't :)

You love to tattle, admit it?

No, but I like to disclose two-faced people :)

68 graduates for every graduate position isn't it now?

listen i earn too much money to be honest and never had to use government pay outs but its just because i have been fortunate enough to be in the same employment , both military and civie
Then look at the bigger picture, if your earning £50k or £100k not everyone else can, there always has to be someone to be a bin man, warehouse worker or shop worker and they will get payed less than you but that doesn't mean they should be paid poorly.

The only solution to that is communism which nobody wants.

BE, I believe it is around there, yes. I believe those stats have been verified through extensive corroboration/cross-checking.

answers.yahoo, LOL. Boom went your credibility, Paulina. Now, if you don't mind, Brits are having a serious discussion here. Have you even been to Scotland?

Oh, your English is very good, Paulina. I can say that much. However, friendly advice. It's 'expose' and not 'disclose'. You'd disclose your income, for example. Or public disclosure :) Hope that helped :)

i am fortunate to have both incomes but dosent mean evrything is good and my mates a bin man and he manages quite good but if i lost one of my jobs tomorrow then thats a problem i have to face but i know what you mean the national minimum wage is not nearly enough for folk

The point is seanus this isn't poland, 20 PLN means nothing to the british worker because everything is in pounds here and its far more expensive. The minimum wage was to low to start and its still to low now which is why one of the scottish councils made it a policy to only pay a minimum of £7 per hour.
Seanus  15 | 19666

I was doing equivalents, BE. The reality is that other ancillary costs have shot up. 7 pounds seems good if it matches the equal pay for equal work criteria. That's another dimension. Some council workers are useless sods so they can be thankful for getting even 7 quid per hour.

answers.yahoo, LOL. Boom went your credibility, Paulina.

My credibility? LOL Oh, Seanus, you're so childish :) Many people using the internet noticed the same thing I did, it's not a big discovery, really :) Did you even read those links I gave you (except for the "answers.yahoo" :))? :)

Now, if you don't mind, Brits are having a serious discussion here.

I don't mind :)

Have you even been to Scotland?

No. There was a time when I wanted to visit Scotland but not any more.

Ah, I knew you "disclose" something not someone but I couldn't find the right word :P Thanks :)

where the **** do you get that i get tax credits i am over the threshhold for tax credits and for your information tax credit is not a benefit so check your facts and my child benefit goes to nspcc as i cant get them to stop it because i dont need it but they make it hard to stop as they just say anyone with kids is entitled but we dont all need it

Those links are as pointless as punching your own teeth, Paulina. Those personality thingies are not worth the effort. Look for my dissertation or thesis on the net, then you'll see what I'm about :)

OK, you don't want to visit Scotland, fair enough.

Childish or child-like? :) :) Far from either really.

The Poles have black pudding which is close to kaszanka here. That can't be too bad for them :) Besides, they have Irn-Bru, a soft drink that Doda advertised.

Why not?

Dtaylor5632 wrote that there are many people like Seanus over there :O
And after reading this forum I'll stay away from the British Isles in general.

Wha?

Childish - dziecinny.

Far from either really.

Poles also do well on housing lists. The local councils know that they can get the cash together as they live together in large numbers. The difference is that Scottish areas tend to be a bit rougher. I can walk in almost any part of Gliwice and feel safe. Kraków? Maybe not but I'd still feel safer than in some of Aberdeen's worst parts.

Ok, enough. Paulina, go get yourself a boyfriend in a box and play with it, keep you calm for a while and Seanus, go take care of your vegetable garden or go plant a fruittree. Or go dance some pagan's dance or whatever.

How many residents of PF actually live in Scotland? How do you feel about your personal safety? I'm always on my guard when in Glasgow. There are some chancers and fools there. It can be bad when you are guilty by association and there is a belief amongst some that immigrants are causing problems. Some lash out :( :(

Seanus (still ignoring the bored little lady and following the PF rules, right on topic)

PS No, Paulina, I won't be your client either:

Tab, jail tends to harden people in Scotland. They can turn into repeat offenders due to the sheer anger of what they had to endure in prison. Quite the ordeal I imagine!

Flawed logic abound ;)

So remind us all who has the power to open up the markets to cheaper imports?.

Remind us who bought those imports

Yeh iam sure all the coal miners just gave up their jobs after the near civil war they fought just so they could have cheaper coal from poland.

I'm sure they thought that the price of coal was just right, but clothing and food was too expensive! Kind of the same thinking of the dairy farmer... milk is priced correctly, but energy is wayyyy too expensive....

Its true that some are just idle, every country has people like this but not everyone has that attitude. A good start would be raising the minimum wage which is one of the lowest in western europe, if french companies have to pay 9 euros an hour then why do ours only have to way £5.85

Not a problem, just lay off the corresponding percentage of the workforce, or raise the prices for consumers.

Why does it say occupation "soldier and cafe worker" on your profile?

iraq and afghanistan

Come on the nearest you have been to these places is probably a local curry house of similar name. And to be honest i don't think you are a native Brit and the nearest you get to TA is with a E in the middle.
