Not all is bad for Poles in Scotland!

If you want to get a university education in the UK, go to Scotland: no tuition fees if you are English (or Anglo-Poles) permanently living in Poland. Of course, if you are English living in England, you have to pay tuition fees.

What a bloody cheek, Varsovian! Not all is bad for Poles in Scotland, what a stupid statement! Poles have been voluntarily taking up employment in Scotland for some time and appear to like what they are doing. Plus, the Scots are generally easy to get on with in the workplace. Back when I did my CELTA, the exchange rate was over 7 PLN to the pound. Some Poles were there and were telling me that they were doing jobs for only 1000 pounds a month. Still, that's over 7,000PLN which, esp 6 years ago, was a good deal.

Yes, there were the moody ones who were unfriendly but that's just their character and nothing to do with Scotland. If they don't like it, they know what they can do.

Not all is bad for Poles in Scotland, LOL, you are quite the joker, son!! Kindly take your dissatisfaction elsewhere. We don't want griping cnuts like you in Scotland.

The tuition-free education is a major plus. It's a bleedin' disgrace what happened south of the border - Labour should hang their heads in shame. GBP 3-5000 a year is a lot.

And of course the only reason that English students have to pay those fees is because Scottish MPs voted for them: without the votes of those Scottish MPs, the bill would not have passed. Roll on independence for Scotland.

Let's see who hasn't read Arthur Herman's 'The Scottish Enlightenment' ;) It was an agreed condition in the preliminary discussions to the Union of the Parliament in 1707. England got a lot from that union so agreed that Scotland would get sth in return.

Yes England got the chance to pay lots of money to Scots who are too lazy or fat or ignorant to work and so stick their hands out for free money from the English.

I wonder when a Scot will ever answer this question: For how long will English constituencies and English Honourable members tolerate at least 119 Honourable Members from Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland exercising an important, and probably often decisive, effect on English politics while they themselves have no say in the same matters in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland?

I think the West Lothian Question is a paradox worth enduring. I'd hate to have an English parliament - even more bureaucrats. Also, it'd be a permanent Conservative govt = increased corruption (we need revolving party govt)

Wow, I think I will quote those statements every time when Seanus starts complaining about Poles, Polish women or Poland in general :D

People in general really.

Not at all: Labour would simply move further to the right.

This reminds me of the situation between Poles and Lithuanians and Belorussians during the times of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. Poles were in a similiar position as the english are with Scots, ect... Interesting.

I agree with you Seanus.

I know many Poles who like the Scottish. As for Poles that have gone to Scotland, if they did not like the Scottish, they wouldn't have gone to Scotland.

People should never make judgements on people based on a bad apple here and there.

I am Polish and I like the Scottish. :)

For as long as the union will exist, something the present government in Scotland is attempting to change, unlike it's neighbours down south who continue to want to put England second behind the union. Anyway, this is just sh1te talk and the topic this thread has turned into has been discussed on this forum many many times in other threads.

Back on topic. My workplace has about 30-40% Polish workers, they all seem very happy to be here and have the work ;)

go to Scotland

Heres a szkocja.eu/sitppolish/CCC_FirstPage.jsp

Roll on independence for Scotland.

Well said Harry.

money from the English.

Scotland has a fiscal surplus of £3.5 bln a year - the UK national debt is around £900 billion - the union is costing Scotland dearly. The sooner we get out the better.

I wonder when a Scot will ever answer this question

The SNP do not vote on English matters, neither do Plaid Cymru - conversely, Scotland continually suffers from Westminsters policies.

Harry, you need to go back to reading objective history books and not campaign pamphlets ;) ;)

Paulina, I meant what I said. If you don't like it, hop it! I see many good things here in Poland and I open the eyes of some here to their own country. That's the benefit of a positive mindset and not just gripes about poor me and self-piteous drivel. You don't like Scotland, you have free movement out of there :) :) :)

I could tell the meaning of a word like serene
I got some 'O' Grades when I was sixteen
I can tell the difference between magarine and butter
I can say "Saskatchewan" without starting to stutter

But I can't understand why we let someone else rule our land, cap in hand

I could get a broken jaw from being in a fight
I know its evening when day turns to night
I can understand why Stranraer lie so lowly
They could save a lot of points by signing Hibs Goalie

But I can't understand why we let someone else rule our land, cap in hand
We fight - when they ask us
We boast - then we cower
We beg
For a piece of
Whats already ours

Once I thought I could make God a bribe
So I said I was in his lost tribe
Getting handouts can be so frustrating
"Get in line son, there's five million waiting"

I can't understand why you let someone else rule your land, cap in hand
I can't understand why we let someone else rule our land, cap in hand
I can't understand why you let someone else rule your land, cap in hand

The Proclaimers' "Sunshine on Leith" - one of my favourite albums ever :)

Maybe they should write a Letter to America :)

I don't think you're the rigth person to open anybody's eyes about anything, to be honest :)

That's the benefit of a positive mindset

Wow,not a single thing right, never mind eh....The only people who get "free" tution in Scotland are Scottish, born and lived in england, pay up,though admittedly about half the price of south of the border.
