Zakopane in December (is it hotel-friendly?)

Quick question,I am planning a week in the beginning of December to visit in law in Poland.but this time,I want to go to zakopane for few days.please can someone tell me how is it in Nov- Dec in zakopane and also are the hotel baby friendly?our baby is under 2 yrs. thanks

you can expect some snow already in Nov-Dec; Zakopane hardly ever stops being full of tourists; no problem with finding good hotel meeting your baby-friendly requirements

letsbookhotel.com on bookings.com it was rated 9 points plus.

Its not a five star hotel, although its not 5* prices, enjoy your visit to Zako.

Nosalowy Dwór is pretty decent. Although I'm not big fan of any size of kids hotel sims to be well prepared (enclosed playground :-)

Not really, I am afraid. The ice layer on pavements is so thick they let it stay till spring.

Pawian. the OP is going to Zako in November/December.

To answer the OP's ? for the last couple of years Zako has experienced early snowfall in late November early December, Pawian is correct in saying they do not seem to clear the footpaths although this is illegal and all property owners have the legal responsibility to clean the footpath in front of their homes/business. Look for a place to stay close to ul Krupówki which is the main street.

Yes, private property owners take care of the pavement in fear of heavy fines.
The problem is with parts of streets owned by the town.


Even side streets leading to Krupówki were icy.

One thing I always notice is when people just clear in front of their own house and never their neighbours'. Even if the neighbour is elderly or away from home.

Don`t be silly. It is easy to say in Britain where winter lasts for 3 or 4 days. In Poland it lasts for 3 or 4 months, let me remind you. :):):) I can remove snow/ice from my elderly neighbour`s pavement once or twice throughout whole winter but not twice a week for 3 months.

Perfect opportunity for some energetic Brit who wants to make a bit of cash in Poland get your self a snow-blower and offer your service to clean footpaths in the more exclusive ares of your town.

Stary Smokovec in Slowakia. Better slopes, much better beer than Polish ****, and Zakopane is awful and full of loud Polish-Americans. You have been warned :)

Yes there is a few places which are baby friendly :) In some places you can find a babysitter, you can find a places only for children. Write to Wersal Hotel, and Mercury Hotel.

These are 1 of the most friendly hotels I ever saw in Zakopane.
