Hi

I am looking for some advice on an upcoming trip to Lodz.

A group of us are heading over from Scotland in the next week or so.

What stuff is there to do during the day? For eg. Paintballing etc

Where are the best places for a night out in Lodz? We are 7 guys and like a good laugh.

How much is drink in Lodz in the supermarkets, pubs and clubs?

Thank you in advance.

Kind Regards

Hi Birney

Beer in Poland is about 7-10zl for a half litre (about 1.40 to 2 quid) you can drink cheaper then that but these places need to be avoided for us brits. In supermarkets the cheapest lagers are about 1.80zl for a can (about 40p) this is ok. Best thing to do is to drink vodka (8 quid a bottle). Most nightclubs don't charge for entry. If you want paintball etc then send these guys an email.. somebody will speak english.

Tip for you is that the poles dont have a sense of humour when it comes to acting like an arse when pissed so behave yourselves. Also remember that it is a catholic country and although some polish girls are pretty they arn't easy. Be careful I can't imagine how bad polish prisons are.

blackturtle.co.uk/fun.html a company in lodz advertising things to do.. but honestly they are so expensive.

Get ready to be pleasantly surprised, at least in pubs. They won't, based on my limited experience, charge you any more than the sum total of the shots in the bottle. Why should they?

Vodka in my local supermarket costs a fiver for the good stuff (bear in mind we're talking about 50cl. bottles).

A bottle of vodka at a bar pub depending on the place goes from 90ZL (16,97GBP) to 150ZL (28,29GBP).

A group of us are heading over from Scotland in the next week or so.

I started a thread on here about working in Lodz as I'm from Scotland and working here for 3 months. I'm in Lodz at the moment for the next 3 weeks.

The beers are less than a quid in most places. Plenty of off licences.

Someone gave you good advice about not getting drunk and acting like a clown as you will stand out and either get lifted or get bother. Also, the bouncers take no **** either.

The main street with all the bars and clubs is Piotrkowska. Google Lodz in your pocket and it will tell you what you need to know. Or drop me a PM if you have anything specific.
