What to do in Warsaw at Christmas?

Most of my friends are going home (either another city in Poland, or back to their home country) for Christmas, so I'm pretty sure I'm going to be alone this Christmas. That doesn't really bother me, but I was wondering what there was to do in Warsaw at Christmas. I imagine everything will be closed the day of or Christmas Eve, but is there something to go to around that time?

I hear at New Years there's some fun times and things to do around the Palace of Culture.

Christmas Eve: early closing

Christmas Day: Poland closed

Boxing Day: Poland probably closed

Christmas being at the weekend doesn't help either.

New Year's Eve: find an open-air concert somewhere. if it's cold it will be your feet and ears that feel it. wrap up well.

New Year's Day: sunday (Poland closed)

Church might be a good place to go for company and a little of the festive spirit. i'm thinking english speaking church. there must be one somewhere.

The Hyatt have a nice Christmas day feast, it is worth the 160 PLN.

Ah, I definitely don't have money for the Hyatt and I'm allergic to milk, so likely everything they'll be having. That sounds lovely, otherwise.

What about popping over to Poznan for New Year's Eve? Me and my friends are having a multilingual NYE party, and I'd be happy to welcome you along :) I'd hate to be stuck in Poland alone at this time of year, so you really are more than welcome to come for that night - the party itself is totally free (of charge, and free of idiots because the only people attending, I personally invited)

The Hilton brunch is by far the best choice for Christmas day, I've been there for each of the last three Christmases. There's always a spare seat kept at the table (and six to nine filled ones).

Christmas is a sort of metaphor for life. The best friends to make are children. Literally "make". Life is fragile and precious, so you need to play the game with confidence. You're going to lose anyway, but best not go with a whimper. Get hitched and start procreating - stop ************ around! Then life becomes, simultaneously, more complicated and simpler.

Thank you so much for the invitation, I really appreciate it. My holiday was quite wonderful here in Warsaw, and I magically got invited to two parties. And as much as I'd like to travel around Poland, I don't think it's going to be this week.

But I'll PM you if I go to Poznan and maybe you can get a couple of people together you know there and we can all go for a pint. Happy New Year!

Christmas days in Warsaw 2017

Hi everyone!
We are planning a visit to Warsaw with my husband, we arrive on 23Dec and leaving on 28. As I know, most of places are closed on 25-26 but still would like to know if any museums, galleries, cafes (like starbucks or any pizzerias) are open on these days?

Also, I'd like to visit Cathedrals, is it possible to do on Christmas eve/Christmas day?

hello, i heared that all atractions and restaurantes are closed on 25-26 of December because of christmas and also on 1.1 because of new year.

The bigger hotels in Warsaw always stay open, and they certainly have restaurants and bars.

Plenty of nice parks etc in Warsaw; you will find them busy with people enjoying the outdoors.
