Warsaw Airport to Gdansk - how do you find the coach ride ?

Dear learned members

Soon I will find myself in Poland as a first time visitor. On the 5th of September, I arrive by LOT in Warsaw at 12:35 from Krakow but am unable to get a connecting flight to Gdansk ( there is one 5 mins later though ).

I have checked the rail timetables and it looks like a good 5.5 - 7 hour journey, departing around 15:00 and arriving late at night in Gdansk. While the train ride is doable, I am considering alternatives, say by bus. Thusfar, I have come across Polskibus.com, currently 35 PLN one way 6h10m ride departing Warsaw at 15:30.

Are there other long haul bus services that might possibly depart earlier ?
Is there such a thing as ride-sharing in Warsaw to Gdansk ? ( For example, in Germany there is this mitfahrgelegenheit / mitfahrzentrale )

Thank you for your anticipated replies.

Get the train or stay a night in Warsaw then an internal flight.

Thanks JohnnyM

I rather not stay in Warsaw, with prepaid bookings in Gdansk for 05.09 ( and departure from Gdansk to home on 06.09 in the evening ).

The train costs more than the bus which IMO offers a better value ( cheaper ticket and free wifi - I would also less likely to have language issues about the bus ticket ).

I took that route not too long ago and it worked out well, when the train arrived, I took the taxi to the hotel-taxis usually wait for passengers at the station. My journey was closer to 5 hours.

Thank you for your response. Tried to book online for an Intercity ticket, gave me some problems at the final stage for the EIC Kaszub ( Error No. EP.519 Incompatible information - train/route/service ).

Proceeded with polskibus.com and once they fixed up the payment gateway, I managed to book the bus ride ( 35 PLN ).

I am looking forward to this maiden visit to Poland!

Polskibus is a good deal, and it's by far the best price you'll find anywhere.

Definitely, I will update the thread upon my return. Indeed, I could not find anything better than Polskibus.

Very comfortable ride I would say - took 5.5hrs to GdaƄsk PKS. The roads were a bit bumpy but the comfort in the bus ( free wifi, power sockets etc. ) made up for it. Looking to snap their 1 PLN deals to other destinations.

I forgot to mention that I noticed an incredible offer from 12 PLN at Simple Express (simpleexpress.eu/lang/).
