Less expensive option is take a taxi from airport to Gdańsk Dworzec Główny -train station (cost about 60pln, time 0,5h)
Or take a bus from Gdańsk Port Lotniczy to Gdańsk Dworzec Główny (cost not more than 10pln time 0,5h)
and then take a train from Gdańsk Główny to Słupsk (cost about 60pln, time 2,5h) [mt.rozklad-pkp.pl]

Given that it's possible to hire a car at Gdansk aiport for an entire week for less than 700zl, paying 800zl for two 110-km journeys seems just a bit excessive.

Although having lived for a year in Slupsk, I'd strongly suggest giving the place a swerve completely.

From Gdansk Airport to Słupsk - bus or train?

Which is the better? I will be arriving at the airport at 14:00 to surprise my friend who is sick. Taxi or private vehicle is cost prohibative. Is there a train station at the airport? How about a bus station? What is the best way please.

Yes. Train from airport to Gdynia (every 30 mins weekdays) Sprinter train from Gdynia to Slupsk (you MUST change train platform/station) at Gdynia Glowna - 100 metres.....)

Total price around 20 zl.
Time around 1hr 30 mins if connections are quick.....

Thank you for the quick reply.

Which is better? Bus or Train? I will be arriving on a Saturday. From what I have read, bus seems better because it is faster. Is this true?

@JadeDragon

It's a matter of personal preference.

The older, the bigger, and the chiller you are, the more likely you will prefer the train.

The younger, the tinier, and the more spastic you are, the more likely you will prefer the bus.

the more spastic

Dominic means to say that if you are doddering like myself you might prefer the bus. I don't think there is a bus from the airport to Slupsk. You would have to go into a district of Gdansk called Wreszcz on the train to do that probably, and you really don't want to be standing around at the miserable open air 'bus station' there waiting for a (late and slow) bus.

Have a look at the train timetables; the bus takes forever.

I am looking at the website below. Weekends are in red but I can still purchase a ticket for Saturday, September 14th, which is when I arrive. If I am looking at the times correctly, I looks like less time than the trains. This is confusing for me because I have never taken a bus or train.

busfor.pl/buses/Gdansk-Airport/Slupsk?from_id=74574&to_id=4553&on=2019-09-14&passengers=1

The company replied to my ticket request. They are not open on Saturday. I think I will take the train. Haha!

If I am looking at the times correctly, I looks like less time than the trains.

Generally, in Poland, buses do tend to be a bit faster than trains. There are exceptions, of course. A little cheaper, too.

Trains are considerably more comfortable and relaxed, especially if you are larger or older. Train stations are generally more pleasant than bus stations. Even if it takes a bit longer, I would pick the train over the bus every time. The extra time and cash is worth the extra comfort to me.

If you're in a hurry, though, or if saving a few złoty is a serious matter, then you might prefer the bus, especially, like I said, you are young and petite, and don't mind hanging out it a seedy bus station and having a less comfortable and relaxed journey.

Different courses for different horses. Depends on what is important to you.

buses do tend to be a bit faster than trains.

Traffic jams....especially in property rich Tri-City - where infrastructure is sadly lacking - as you well know, having lived here Trains are miles better here than buses for the journey the OP has to make.
