It's apparently a commercial bank. Employees give all sorts of nicknames to companies usually with no bearing on reality.

I know some people that worked for State street in both Ireland and Poland, they were thankful for the opportunity. You will always get disgruntled ex employees who will bite the hand that fed.

Ahh yes, I have read the comments posted on the website too. I have been working at SS for a while now and in my opinion this place is really great. People are nice and friendly and opportunities are out there for you! Obviously its a "corporation" employing in Poland more than 1,000 people so you have to get used to certain way of working, rules etc. All the people who are ******** about SS are usually immature, inexperienced students who have their egos bigger than the moon and hoped to be CEOs by now ;)
