I wouldn't be so sure about that. The trade in organs is worth a lot of money, and where there is money, there is crime. London is one alleged centre for black market sales, both of voluntarily sold organs and those obtained in other ways.

You have more to worry from having your wallet stolen more than your organs. The only time you have to worry about your organs, it will be to late to do anything about it, because what makes you will no longer need a physical body. Keep on your toes and a hand on your wallet and you will be fairly safe while traveling in Poland. I was there last year for 2 weeks and I had no problem whatsoever even with the problem with language. But then again, I did not advertise that I was tourist. I dressed down and acted like I belong there and I enjoyed the trip. Since I was the first of the family to return to the old country.

Everyone is joking about this but there is such a thing as "organ thieves." I have heard that unsupervised children are more at risk than adults, but when I was in Poland this October, there was an incident in an Auchan marketplace (I forgot what city) in Poland where a child was rescued from kidnappers who were planning to take the child's organs.

HAHAHAHA. Not this old story again - IKEA is usually the place mentioned, but now I see Auchan has joined the list.

How did they know the kidnappers were after the organs? :)

They're joking about it because there has never been a single documented case of this happening in Poland.

No worries mate, people there freely sign their own death sentence especially when they are uninsured or under-insured, all for a privilege of proud organ donor to be displayed on the back of their driver license.
