not in your own car anyway, price of petrol ahhhhhhhhhhhh.
Anyone know rough prices and times for travel from Krakow to Warsaw? Is it doable in a day, ie leave Krakow very early morning and travel back at night? I think I read somewhere it takes about 2.5 hours.
Are there any other good daytrips from Krakow via train?
Sorry to ask so many questions but going to Krakow for a break in June but trying to price travel to Warsaw (return) while we're there, be cool to visit both.
Was also thinking of flying to Italy for a day or two but seems very expensive.
Thanks :o)

train timetables and fares in english
rozklad-pkp.pl/?q=en/node/143
time: between 2:30 and 3 hours,
prices between 40 and 110 zł depending on the train company and quality
Doable but exhaustive.

Merged: Train travel in Poland is cheaper than bus
Hi there, I recently found a great website where you can book tickets for Polish trains and I thought I'd share it with you. I used to be quite hesistant about travelling by trains due to their bad fame in Poland, but turns out it's just a myth and honestly right now I prefer train to any other means of public transport :)
So, there's the website: escape2poland.co.uk/warsaw_lodz_train_connection.html Hope you'll like it!!!

It is cheaper if you take a bus. The best bus is polskibus.com i have tested it by myself many times. enjoy your traveling :)
en.e-podroznik.pl - the best website with bus connections search. Tickets for some companies can be bought online too.
intercity.pl/en/ - tickets for intercity, usually faster and more expensive trains. they sell online
biletyregionalne.pl/login - here are sold tickets for regional trains, but nobody bothered to make english version.

this is a British website, they show prices in British pounds and they are more expensive than when you use the Polish national train company. Go to pkp.pl
Actually it is run from Poland rather than the UK. Out of Gdansk to be precise. If their prices seem higher than PKP, one can only guess at the reason.
The PKP website is ok for checking times. It isn't always reliable for fares and counter services at the main railway stations in PL aren't aimed at non - Polish speakers. Monitor's links are a good bet.
One good thing about the escape2poland site is that there is exhaustive information there which is very worth looking at. Just remember though that it is entirely geared up to selling you stuff which you may well find more cheaply and easily elsewhere.

The link i provided - intercity.pl/en/ is website of PKP and they sell tickets online for normal price. Together with biletyregionalne.pl. I they offer online tickets for all connections in Poland If I am not mistaken. I've just noticed that rozklad-pkp.pl started selling tickets too.

between Poznan and Warsaw. it looks like there are multiple trains going throughout the morning but there's only the option to purchase tickets now for the one at 10:28

Except local train companies like Koleje Mazowieckie or Koleje Śląskie.

That's because reservations won't be open yet for the other trains.
