We're flying to Lodz in a few days. Can we take fruit in with our hand luggage? Some countries won't allow it.

Thanks

In theory no. In practice they don't check hand luggage on arrival.

If they see it when going through the x ray- they will take it.

it is your choice if you want to try and sneak it through.

Yes. I'd suggest putting it in the checked-in luggage where it won't be so conspicuous. I sometimes bring exotic fruit like mangosteens, rambutans, fresh lychees etc fback from the Middle East or a friend who always asks for them. I always put them in the suitcase and haven't had any problems.

Thanks so much for your suggestions, we'll give it a try.
Worst case - they'll have a few free oranges and apples, and we'll starve for a couple of days.
Thanks again

You can easily get both oranges and apples here. But since you're coming in the summer you might enjoy the local raspberries, cherries, blueberries, wild strawberries etc. Usually cheaper than in the UK.

Hehe, I love those Singaporean signs :)

I think the OP has been watching too many of those customs programmes. Some comedians really ought to do a send-up of Australian border security :D
