Ski in Slovakia - from Poland

Hi,

Does anyone have any experience of skiing in Slovakia? If so, any tips on things to do or avoid? How good are the resorts? Are there ski buses, or would one have to find his/her own way around?

How would one reach the resorts from Poland? My friends will be flying from the UK (probably to Krakow of Warsaw), any idea how to get to Jasna/Poprad region easily? Does any one have any tips on driving there if I decide to do this (from Poznan)?

Any other relevant advice would be great. Thanks in advance (again!).

:-)

Theres the long motorway route which is West of the Tatras or the much quicker and by far more scenic through the east of the main peaks. You will need to head to Krakow and pick up the 7 road off the A4 ring road South of Krakow, towards Zakopane. The long route is about 4 hours more.

Heres the route from Nowy Targ to Tatranska Lomnica.

Theyre OK, depends on the resort and how far the lifts are away from your hotel. They will have regular ski buses.

I personally prefer Spindleruv Mlyn in the Czech Repulblic, its much closer, has better slopes, better lift systems, better hotels, its not as high as the Tatras and the mountains arent as scenic though. spindleruv-mlyn.com/en/

I also prefer the Karkonosze ;), although its Harrachov for us, since it has comparable infrastructure and is better to reach.
In general the connection to the Czech Republic and Slovakia is terrible, though.
