My friends' father rebuilt the tower in the foreground I believe

Very nice town, seems really mellow. I was up on that roof of that big observation tower.

I took a pic of this train coz I never seen one this old before. It looks like its from WWII or an old commie train. lol

Nope, it isn`t. It is an Austrian tram produced in 1970s, Polish companies bought a few dozen. pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/SGP/Lohner_E1

Your photo was taken in Dietla Street in Krakow close to Wawel Castle.

A really communist tram looks like that. Where is it used as a tourist attraction?

Judging by the colors.... Wrocław? (I seem to recall blue trams there) unlike the red used in Warsaw or Green in Poznań Can't remember what color they were in Kraków/

Yes, Wrocław. If you don`t remember Krakow colours, look at Bluzeki`s photo above. :):)

(Hint': I chose one of the decent ones by this artist

As opposed to indecent? ;) I have no idea about the style or who painted it :(

What do you think of his art?

Interesting, I quite like him. Quite hard to pin him down to a particular style to be honest. Some of his work looks surrealistic, some almost cartoonish for example.Looking at some of his pictures, he appears to have been influenced by Klimt and Magritte, amongst others. He most definitely appreciated the female form ;)

Who painted this portrait?

Olga Boznańska - Girl with Chrysanthemums.

Yes, cartoonish, too. I saw his paintings as a young boy and have remained fascinated since then because I have always loved comic books. :)

Yes, Olga, I saw that painting in the poster advertising the Young Poland art a few days ago.

Who had this style?

Hint - that famous artist used to exploit one motif in almost all his works - you can see it the pic above.

Battle of Varna by Stanisław Chlebowski.

Yes, Varna, point. Not Chlebowski but it doesn`t matter.

And this situation?

exploit one motif

Those triangular/geometric shapes I guess, but I still don't know who it is...............

And this situation?

I think I'm way off base with this one as I think the timescale is wrong, but is the figure pointing meant to be Saint Stanislaus, the martyred Bishop of Kraków? And the guy with the crown Bolesław II?

I seen a lot of art in Poland as well. Even the frames on these pictures are fine works of art.

Wasz kraj jest piekny!

Hey Milo, I have many photos from England too:)

This place will be easy for you guys to guess?

Those triangular/geometric shapes I guess, but I still don't know who it is...............

Yes, those triangular hats appear in almost every painting.

Saint Stanislaus, the martyred Bishop of Kraków? And the guy with the crown Bolesław II?

yes, of course. Why the wrong timescale?

I stopped by the radio station before jam night:)

The ruins of Krzyżtopór Castle, one of the most luxurious residences where horses ate from marble mangers. Devastated by Swedes.

Why the wrong timescale?

Only because I thought the clothing was from a later period believe it or not!

Yes, the river`s name - Elster.

It came to my mind that we might be a little tired with art riddles.

As the most successful guesser, you have the right to choose the topic of the next series of riddles. What shall it be?

I am the most successful guesser simply because hardly anyone else is participating! I am surprised that so few here appear to be interested in this great thread :(

Ok, this time we will focus on statues and monuments. If it's not too popular it can always be changed.

Who is this and where is it?

I am surprised that so few here appear to be interested in this great thread :(

The problem is that too many people are lazy and don`t want to train their minds, looking for clues and eventually guessing. They mostly prefer to deal with sth they have seen, visited, experienced because it is the easiest. Yes, it is sad, but we can`t help it.

Who is this and where is it?

Looks like WW2 soldier accompanied by a few mates, plus the shadow of a bomber plane on the ground, but never saw it. I need time.

Thanks for that Milo. You don't have to like me, just guess at the riddle!

Certain guys take things too seriously, they think the forum is their only life. Forgive him.

It is just that the poster is not very much liked.

You once said you run a business, birdbrain. Do you also categorise your customers into the liked and disliked ones? You must have gone bankrupt a few times so far. :):)

too many people are lazy

And apathetic. I am seeing this more and more on a daily basis. Sad, but there you go.

plus the shadow of a bomber plane on the ground, but never saw it. I need time.

It's not a shadow. No worries about time, look how long it took me to get some of yours!

It is the Baboon......

Sorry but I don't have a problem with him!

It's not a shadow.

Yes, I know, but I forgot how to call those bricks that are used to make the ground. :):)
