As for Black Madonna picture, guys, you should exclude all artificially dyed or coloured materials like straw or matches. It is pure nature. Jon was the closest of you with those flower petals but still wrong because it`s sth else. Natural!

Kaprys, I didn`t recognise the guy by his image but I know the names of most famous Polish mountaineers and the most renowned one, next to Wanda Rutkiewicz was......the one who died in 1980s. I perfectly remember that day when the media, still communist, reported it.

I have an easy riddle for you - at least it's so damn obvious for anyone Polish in their 30s and older. But I wonder if foreigners living in Poland know it too.

Yes, but giving hints is allowed when the riddle is too difficult to solve at the first shot. :) In case of Dougpol`s picture, hints weren`t necessary because the mural was too explicit.

Judo? Tough lot, those Zaglebians...My wife was born there. And she was a college handball player. Those are two of Sos' favourite sports. Those, and drinking Mad Dogs.

They also play ice-hockey and basketball but those names aren't ambiguous in English. Squash and Cricket were the only two I could think of. Plus skiing, if your 'easy as a ride downhill' is a reference to it, but there isn't anything ambiguous about skiing either. Although it does use poles if that has sth to do with the object you mentioned.

A good one, indeed they come from nature, but not. The effect of the picture relies on natural beauty, as I already hinted, while seeds aren`t beautiful. Another hint: I took the photo at an annual festival held in Krakow, it always takes place in June and is called the Exhibition of ........... Guess what.

It's a Polish TKS tankett about the size of a car.
One of the TKS tankettes was donated to Poland by the Swedish Axvall Tank Museum and since 2008 it is on exhibition in the Museum of the Polish Army.

The Swedish TKS survived the post-war period in Norway, where it was operated by a local farmer as a tractor.

Yes, it is a TKS tankette. Though small and poorly armed, its heavy machine gun was able to penetrate the armour of all types of German tanks used in 1939.

When we talk about Schindler`s factory, what event during the Nazi German occupation does this exhibit represent? An SS cap on a lectern...

Very close. That symbolic cap represents one single event which took place before AB Aktion.

Operation Tannenberg?

I don't know and I haven't got a clue, but I'd like to know the answer :)

(as above, Operation Tannerberg would be my only guess, specifically the targeting of teachers and academics)

You are very close, but operation Tannenberg took place in western parts of Poland, still during the military operations of 1939. While my event took place in Krakow when the occupation had started formally It targeted academics, indeed.

Your tankette is not the same one as in Pawian's photo though, it's in Schindler's Factory.


Sonderaktion Krakau?

Yes, exactly! I did a project on it in my elementary school decades ago, shyt, I remember it like today, we went to the University to collect data, our group got Bs for that. :)
