Time to get back to seaside riddles.
What can you see?

Kiedy się wypełniły dni
i przyszło zginąć latem,
prosto do nieba czwórkami szli
żołnierze z Westerplatte.

( A lato było piękne tego roku ).
....
When their days had been filled
and it was time to die in the summer,
They went straight to heaven in a coach-and-four,
the soldiers of Westerplatte.

(Summer was beautiful that year.)
....

That Guinness tasted like carbonated water. Sorry, never again.

Try real one next time, not from the can.

żołnierze z Westerplatte.

Yes! (but not only as there are more battle places engraved on the monument in Gdańsk).

Try real one next time, not from the can.

No, thanks. That Guinness in the can was so poor that drinking draft one won`t help much. Sorry, it is pisss, not beer.

Are you training turtles in your pen?

If you mean pen as enclosure, then I must say you are quite close.

Yes, an enclosure! Hmmm...Not Turtles, likely not Carp (it doesn't look water tight) so I might venture to guess a rabbit?

Nope. Just recall where turtles normally live....... and think again.

Pawian, it is a long weekend here. I have put the brain in neutral for the next day and a half. So it is a pen/enclosure for an animal of some sort. Are you going to add some sort of water feature to this pen?

Shyt, man, you were so close! It isn`t a turtle but a tortoise!!! My snapper turtle lives in an aquarium while my steppe tortoise lives on the ground and sometimes in it.

Are you going to add some sort of water feature to this pen?

Yes, I am thinking about it though Max doesn`t like entering water on his own, I have to bathe him in the tub.

Why???

You recently painted the pen and want to make sure the tortoise doesn't lick the paint off?

one of them's on heat?

I always thought it was "in" heat?

Also funny but nope. :):):)

Hint: Why is the tortoise outside while it can be inside?

hahahaha guys, thanks for laugh. :):):):)

forced to get some sun

Yes! That little halfwit has to sunbathe for healthy development but the instant I put him in in the newly-enlarged pen he runs into the shadiest corner and buries himself in the ground. £o żesz ty!

Good job, fstop, although I cannot praise you for humour. Next time, probably.

Why are these classroom lamps special?

What about the lamps? I remember the design from my school times. Do you mean they are historic, or something?

Many a time I was gaping at these lamps (or lamping at these gaps... PL lampić się = gapić się), thinking about something else, everything, anything but the lesson...

so where is the place where they still survived?

They bring some kind of complacent atmosphere, don`t they?

In 1980s, when my high school was renovated, they fitted modern fluorescent lamps which gave cold, ominous, threatening light. I hated them.

Today, when I see such lamps in a classroom which they appoint me, I demand another, traditional one.

I think I am going to include it in my contracts.

I think I am going to include it in my contracts.

A man in your position certainly should. That reminds me my first boss, an old professor, who insisted on having his audiences no larger than 70 students or so. Especially for him the first year student classes were split into two groups; he gave lectures to the first one on Wednesdays and I repeated it on Fridays to the other students. I was just an assistant trainee at that time. And guess who was conducting examinations at the end of the year? Both, evenly: he examined the first 20, I only slaved with the remaining 130. :-). And then there were first year students from three faculties to handle ...

An ostentatious display proving you are one class above a proletariat?
OP pawian  221 | 26233
17 Sep 2012 /  #1645
hahahaha So, drinking Black Label whisky puts you only one class above? I thought it would be two classes at least! :):):):)

Sorry, nope. To prove I am above common guys, I order and drink genuine champagne in genuine leather. I usually do it in Krakow Market Square for everybody to see. :)

I don't know, but it looks like the light fixture for my fish tank.

Little wow for encouragement. :):):):)... You started well..... It is a fish tank, indeed.

Could you develop this idea a little further?

Not my sort of people, but I'm sure they don't.

Putting whisky into marmalade though, is strictly bourgeois.

It's actually marmalade with a tiny amount of whisky stirred in while it's cooling. Usually bought, and a popular souvenir from Scotland.

You can buy it in Poland.
