I bought certain second-hand antiquated device which I used to have in my childhood. Many of my sweet memories are attached to it. Now, I use it again with my kids and they are fascinated, despite being surrounded with modern gadgets. They frequently ask me: Dad, when will we .....?

What do I mean?

PS. We use it in the evening.

=boletus]Slide projector?

Hail to you, genius! :):): Yes, out of pure sentiment, I purchased an ancient slide film projector. Many sweet memories from my childhood are connected with our "home video" sessions back in those 1970s.

I didn`t know they made hundreds of films, while we had only a dozen or two.

PS. I have just found a set of ten mini flims in a forgotten drawer. Holy cow!

Ooops, emptying the forgotten drawer at Midnight:45 caused a little noise.
My wife asked: Do you drink too much or too little?

But it was worth it - I found 10 mini films.

But, what made me laugh was the fact that the local who took me there hadnt noticed that part of the X in Marx had been rubbed out to leave it as, MARY ENGELS LENIN :)

MARY ENGELS LENIN

:-) He must have had a practical mind, converting a communist symbol to a religious one: Maria degli Engeli.

This invokes an old image ...
During my university days, my wife and I rented a room from a lady of hard hearing, who was also 90% blind (a war incident). Our room was facing a main street where the Corpus Christi procession passed every year. On that day all balconies around were already decorated with garlands, flowers and holly icons - only our balcony was still empty. Bending under social pressure she asked us if she could borrow a sizable image of Holly Mary, hanging in our room, and place it at the balcony. She even did not blink when we explained to her that it was a reproduction of Mona Lisa. - No one will ever notice - she answered with a cunning smile.

haha, I got the basic religious message with Mary but hadnt realised it was even more cunning than that.
For all us protestants, what does "Maria degli Engeli" mean ?
Its a few years since I took the photo, but if I remember right it looked to have been worn down after it was in place ( i suppose that would be a no brainer as it would never have got past the foremen) and looks to have been done a while ago,so, could it have been in the 80s? I seem to remember photos of big demonstrations around there.....if so,more subtle than giving Churchill a mohican :)

I corrupted it on purpose; it should be "Maria degli Angeli", Mary of the Angels.
There is a Basilica Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri (Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels and the Martyrs) in Rome.

Sean, after 30 years of my English language career, I have learnt that almost anything what I say or write goes. This exaggerated is included in it too. :):):):)

Thanks, anyway. :):):)
