The gates of a lock system allowing the passage of boats around waterways that change in elevation that are too shallow to pass? Looks unused based on the flotsam and jetsam accuommulated in front of the gates. Looks like a domicile for gołombki.

What is the purpose of that cage on a university building?

I think it used to be a storage point for paint. Until the vandals got into it.

So it is not Czocha. I am checking castle sites and maps now .....

I found it:

Moszna Castle
The palace and park complex used to be a residence of the German Tiele-Winckler family till 1945. This gigantic 7,000 square and 65,000 cubic meter construction was started in the 17th century and has 365 rooms and 99 turrets. It is reminiscent of the English castles from the Elizabethan period. Now a Centre of Therapy of Neurosises and hotel.

Where did you stay? In the hotel or the other part? :):):):)

Hehe neither. We went hill-walking on the Czech border. Passed this place on the way back and had a goose around. It was interesting. It sticks in my mind cos a crow came and stole my ex's crisps and I got the blame for it :D
