Well, according to your experiences here in Poland, among these 5 parts (North, South, East, West or Center) is more beautiful?

I have been living around central Poland, I visited North of Poland and since one year I am living in the south- for me, the southern part is more beautiful with the beautiful mountains (I have seen only pictures and heard feedback till now) and Krakow.... which is like a cherry on the cake.

So far I've been to Gdansk, Warsaw, Krakow and a number of other smaller towns in the South. So far Krakow is the prettiest large city, then Gdasnk, then Warsaw...but I have a lot more to see! I've been to Hel (which is nice, but very small), but never Sopot, Gdynia or Mazury, so I have plenty more to see in the north! I'm off to Zakopane for the first time this winter and hopefully will get to see some of the southern lakes and dunajec river next summer!

So in short, for me, the south...so far, but I will definitely be visiting other places in the north too!

As for Warsaw, I wasn't overly impressed, more flights go there from the UK, which is handy and it seems very lively at night, but not a very pretty city!

Mazury

I find Mazury to be hugely overrated - really nothing special at all. Podlasie, however is underrated - more people should visit and it's much nicer than Mazury. The Jura Krakowsko Częstochowska is also very worth visiting, as is the region around Klodzko.

I suppose it all depends on what you want to see and do.

I've been in Krakow, Warsaw, Gdansk, Katowice, Visla and Bielsko-Biala. Besides visits to Sopot/Gdynia/Hel/Torun.
Thinking about everyday living, loved Warsaw as city, I'm American and getting there is like finally being able to breath compared to Krakow. Much more open space between the buildings, guess I don't like the narrow streets of most old European cities.

Then again, I grew up in a small mountain town, and probably could end up in another one. So:
North: Liked it a lot, but the beach/water not on par to warmer sites in the Mediterranean. 7/10
Warsaw: Best city in Poland imho. Cosmopolitan. The big parks. Wide spaces. 8/10
Krakow: Beautiful, historic city that I loved to know, but probably wouldn't stand to live there. (oh the traffic!) 9 to visit, 5 to live in (or 7 if you live in suburbs and don't have to commute).

South: Mountains, love'em. 9/10

Still have to know Wroclaw and the West though.

Teach me about the Podkarpackie voivodship

Tell me about this unknown (underrated?) region. It seems to have unspoled-by-civilization lands. Bt the capital Rzeszow seems to develop rapidly and it's the only city with growing population in Poland after Warsaw so the mayor must be doing the right thing.
