We had an old Dziadek who was an expert on mushrooms,

but

He was diagnosed as death by mushroom poisoning.

Experts eh?

None of us ever ate a wild mushroom ever since

More for the rest of us.

You can't pick up morels in Poland. They are protected species.

Late April-Early May is a good time for them

Too early.

You can't pick up morels in Poland. They are protected species.

You can't pick any in Kampinoski forest - they are all protected - but nevertheless a lot of the grzyby on sale in Warsaw come from there.

Too early.

That's what we've got in Moscow area. I thought however Poland would have a bit warmer climate. So it should be even earlier... well... you know it better.

You'd think so but for some reason it works differently. To do with the spores etc. A friend who picks them professionally starts in June, though there are only really kurki around at that time.
