Is there a lot of racism in Poland now?

Hi!
I was born in Poland and lived there until the age 3, I now live in the U.K. But the majority of my family resides in Poland and I don't get to see them often, I'd love to go on holiday but I hear that the political situation isn't great and racism is becoming a bigger problem.

I am mixed race with Afro type hair, I'm quite pale but I wouldn't pass for white.
I do speak (almost) fluent polish with a few grammar problems and I sometimes forget words but otherwise quite well.
I'd love to go visit my family in the summer, they live in Pruszków, do you think my ethnicity would be a problem to the extent that if I was out anywhere it would cause some kind of verbal attack or worse?

most people are not like that in poland, that's what polish people told me when I asked them.

It is rather a fight between Catholics and atheists than whites and blacks. Catholics try to lead the country to a religious state. Atheists do not agree.


That Pruszków? Well known Polish mafia headquarters? Contrary to popular belief it may be a safe town for tourists.

No, Poles want to build a real country they would run in the interested of the majority and Soviets are fighting to regain privileged position within the country to rip it off for their own personal enrichment and benefits and F!! all the rest.

Don't worry, you will probably not receive any racism. You may get the odd remark that roughly translates to 'mmmn chocolate' but it's an indication that the person fancies you! I have been spending time in Poland (usually a quite a rough area of Lodz) for ten years now, I am mixed Indian/Greek and my kids are predominantly Indian, none of us have had any problems. These days people that live in the area say hello and stop and speak to us all and are very friendly. The fact that you speak Polish will help as will your family connections. Go and enjoy yourself, it's a lovely country.

No what it is.....same as always. The game of control of Poland there in the middle of europe. A tug-o-war between the rotten east, greedy west, religious zelots, foreign investors and more. You are worried about racism? Lol
