Footwear in January (Krakow, Poland)?

Me and my partner are travelling you Krakow next week but I'm not too sure which type of footwear I need(male).

What do Polish males typically wear during this time of year? I was thinking maybe hiking boots?

Hiking boots would indeed be best. Waterproof them, because there can be lots of snow and slush.

Sandals and flip-flops. Socks on.

Sandals and flip-flops

Only in BiaƂystok! Lighter footwear helps when you are running away from the polar bears!

Thanks, I'll go with some waterproof hiking boots then!

Just get the perfect ones though so people will think you are Polish. We Poles wear only one type of boots in winter so we can easily see if there's a foreigner around.

Provide yourself with thick-soled shoes or boots, this January welcomed us with loads of snow and occassional temperature drops below -20 C.
