How expensive is it to live in Poland in one week?

Could someone please tell me, is 100 Zloty sufficient to live for a week in poland. I dont think accommodation is a factor, But all meals, travel to and from school each day, maybe some socialising. Would 100 Zł cover the cost???

It depends how you live. 300 should do it, 500 better. 100 would be very, very tight.

If 250PLN isn't enough, then many Poles are in serious trouble after paying off their various expenses that the OP didn't refer to.

250zl a week is 35zl per day, after you take away money for public transport, phone credit, toiletries, clothes and other expenses that pop up how is this enough? And that doesn't even include food or socialising which the op asked about.

No I live in Scotland, but I spent a holiday in Krakow last week. I spent every night out and still it only cost me at most 500pln. If anything it's a lot cheaper in Krk these days.

Yes but that is about 35zl per day and as you were on holiday you didn't have all the day to day expenses that someone who lives here would have. Please explain in deatail how 14zl per day would be enough for someone to live.

Easy, shop at markets, dont shop by the day but shop for what u need for the month. Cook ur food and freeze it. How do you think ppl who earn 700-800 a month live? I've managed to live on a food budget of 300pln a month quite easily.


I had the exact if not more expenses while on holiday. You dont find the average Pole going to pubs and cafes every day.

In the first case, yes, if you don't eat out but buy groceries and prepare your own meals. Then it's possible. But no socialising, unless it's one beer or so.

If it's about all expenses of everyday living, then no,it's not enough, even excluding the bills.

Don't forget about topping your phone up (and if the OP is a foreigner, she may want to send texts abroad, emails at a cybercafe), buying stuff like coffee, the odd meal out etc. Plus, if she's only in Warsaw for a while she'll have to get weekly (32zl) tickets rather than monthly.

Plus getting her hair done, buying the things that women need to buy each month, some make-up etc, maybe something to read like a book or magazine too. And perhaps the occasional taxi home.

Students live on 500 pln per month in Krakow.

Students are a special breed, able to survive on 2 packets of instant noodles or 2 beers a day and without many goods most people deem necessary. They have some discounts, help each other out and some of them have parents who support them if not with extra money then with extra food. Anyway, with 500 zł a month you're just able to survive if you know some useful tricks.

Cost of cafe Late in Warsaw, Krakow,Poznan, is about 8-12 pln, Poland is getting v expensive,and i find to live cheaper in Britain, 100 is not enough, unless You want to drink water and eat bread.

Cafe latte is indeed very expensive in Poland. On Friday I had a disgusting coffee in horrible surrounds at Poznan station - concrete floor, cold uncomfy seats - and this was in a newly built Starbucks ! Is it really a step up from the 90s when you could get a disgusting cup of po turecku for 1 zloty ?
