Poland-My 9-day experience

Sorry, but those 4 are redeeming qualities. It's what I see as balanced commentary in this part. Other parts were inaccurate IMHO but that's just me.

I agree with Torq here, If you assess the overall post it doesn't contribute anything and aim is very clear, It is trolling.

It's a wooden Norwegian church in Poland, i wouldn't say it was a common or ordinary sight :-)

I think its not trolling just europe through journey by some snobbish kids... I don't know who promise them to see anything extraordinary. Country like country, you must know what you want to see, AussieSheila seems did not.

I wrote what I saw.

I saw many women on the street at night in Katowice, my friend(polish) told me they were prostitutes. In Warsaw, all cars in one street have their windscreens covered with nightclub/sex club advertisements and I thought London telephone booth was bad.

We went to the aqua park called tropicana( i think) at Hotel Golebiewski in Wisla, it was fun and I thoroughly enjoyed it. But I saw many fat men and women there. I almost thought I was in an American resort.

Danzig? thats the name we use in our school text book. Auschwitz was also called something different on Polish road signs.

I love the foods, flaki soup was delicious and I like bigos too.

I was not too worried about safety, although my Polish friends were. I saw 3 young guys who wanted to hitch a ride from the base of Morskie Oko to Zakopane which is quite far, but my friends refused to let them in(although i asked them to come with us as it was my hired car). I felt sorry for them as it was late and getting dark.

I'll visit the country again next year, and see more places which many of you mentioned here. Hopefully I'll be able to find a car with automatic gear transmission which will make it a lot easier to visit off the beaten track as i'm not used to manual cars prevalent there.

I noticed some people are riled up, i have no intention of offending anyone.

When you read Aussie's post what do you think the aim ? Is she/he trying to contribute something or trying to draw attention ?

Maybe it was ;) In Poland we don't have a sport culture at all so at the age of menopause and andropause our parents gain some weights... its just ageing...

If it goes of young ppl u r 100% right on ur conclusion on fastfood. A meal made in home is still 3-4 times cheaper than an order in a restaurant, even in McDonalds!

I think in future Poland would be obese, we don't eat so many highly processed products but we dont work out.

er.. no. It's more like going on holiday to the Black Country :p

There's plenty to see and do here, and as Manchester is the second most-visited city in England (London is obviously first) and culturally way ahead of anywhere outside the capital, it's like visiting Kraków instead of Warsaw. There's far more to see and do in central Manchester than in Kraków, and far more variety than in Warsaw. Considering that 2.5 million people live in Greater Manchester, and the central areas are similar in size, that doesn't really say much for Poland's capital, does it?

By the way, I quite like Warsaw (I've been there many times and know it well) so it's not a criticism of Poland's capital, but get your facts right when talking about places you've probably not spent more than a few hours in, if at all.
