Buying Train Tickets online - I'm going to Poland soon

I'm going to Poland in less than 30 days and I downloaded the intercity app (I'm in Canada) but I can't figure out how to actually pay for tickets. I picked the destinations though Can you purchase them through the app and have a mobile ticket or is it a different process? Maybe if the departure is in mid September the option is hidden perhaps? Planning to chose Intercity Express as it sounds like TLK doesn't seem like the best. Does InterCity have first and second class?

This should aswer some of your questions: intercity.pl/en/

Download this app if you want to travel around Poland. It covers more means of transport and buses are quite competitive to trains in Poland, as trains, because of many renovations, are quite slow this year and buses are also cheaper.

Caution with internet ticketing, a link leading from that site or a similar one leads to a booking page in English. It vastly over-quoted for an IC train, second class, any "indifferent" seat. The price came out at approx. double what it was possible to pay at the physical ticket office. I think actually it was almost x3 the correct price. No one knows why that happened but someone who doesn't know what the correct price usually is would probably think that it was ok to press the buy button.

Maybe you should buy your tickets on the intercity website?

The English version of it is currently down, which doesn't surprise me IF it was that website which quoted me x2 the correct price or more for a ticket last week

use this one? it seems to work: rozklad-pkp.pl/bin/query.exe/en?

and the price is exactly like I always pay.
(I checked before registering, so I don't know what happens next)

Thanks, but cannot see the IC prices from that site although I confirm the Regio prices shown are accurate.

you can see prices just before logging in.

Nie, couldn't see IC (Inter City) when I ran a price check. Whether IC would have shown up for a later time in the day I don't know but in many ways the site is limiting because the other site allows the user to choose which seat etc (although it tried to overcharge me of course).

Wow some good insights here. Thanks! What is the typical cost for a ticket from Krakow to Warsaw? I'm scared of getting charged twice. I downloaded an app that the intercity website suggested, Bilkom. To buy tickets it takes you to another website and it isn't in English and I need to login first.

Does this site sound right? I really want to go by train at least on the first trip migration over to Warsaw.

Their process is so confusing! It redirects to the intercity website and it glitches out and tells me that the tickets are sold out. I have a feeling this is due to some technical issues. What's the average price for a ticket from Krakow to Warsaw?

Are you flying with LOT ? If so then ask them to book train tickets for you .If not , then just arrive at the train station and buy ticket on the spot 2hrs before the departure , they are never sold out ...they are expensive for average polish Joes and online booking is pointless for anyone, its just a money grab .I have traveled to PL many times ,used their PKP 90 percent of the time and never bought train ticket ahead of time , never been left on the Peron either :}

You need to decide between cheaper and more comfy but more expensive. TLK costs 35 zł while EIC 130

Big price difference between the two. Does IC have a first and second class?
