Budget for a week in Poland- fast foods, some brand clothing buy, three star hotel - shared room, and clubbing

Greetings, I am planning on visiting Poland in early to mid June. Naturally, I am trying to ascertain the cost of travel and for this reason, creating a budget. I don't plan on backpacking but don't plan on spending lavishly either. If I were to eat fast food( McDonald's) everyday twice, shop a bit ( zara, h&m), stay in a three star hotel( room will be shared with a friend), go to a club every night, how much money will be enough? My budget is around 430 pln including accommodation. Please advise.( budget is for a day and room will be shared so half price).

Depends which part of Poland, but you're looking at 60 or 100 PLN per night for a reasonable, budget hotel (shared room sometimes possible, depends). There are some hostels at 30-45 a night (per bed, usually) but very limited availability. Entry to clubs usually has to be paid for. I would say 430 PLN is insufficient for a week, it might be OK for 2-3 days (just about). Food is not cheap in most cities unless you know exactly where to dine if you get tired of American burger chains.

Check Gumtree Poland for "nocleg" and select the city you want (remember to use the Polish word for the city name if searching for it in the search box)

You should book ahead online for the accommodation if you can, to avoid higher costs or no availability risks. Hotels such as Ibis may be a solution.

Sorry for not being clear enough, the cities I am planning on visiting are Krakow and Wroclaw. Total time spent will be around 6 days. As I mentioned, the budget for each day is 430pln( around 2600pln) for 6 days.

Sorry. I've had a few beers and wasn't concentrating :(

Well for 430 per day you're likely to be fine (if it's not high season or Xmas/New Year). You've probably already realised it's best to book ahead, and that'd be my plan too because it can mean the best hotel deals so that you might get a 5 or 4 for the price of a 3 star. Wroćław has nice hotels, you'll be spoilt for choice. Make sure you see the Panorama painting when you visit, it's well worth it. Lots of clubs too, I believe, catering for a variety of tastes.

Someone else may post better and more specific info in a moment !

Minus accommodation, let's assume I'll be left with 300 pln per day for food( american fast food chains), clubbing( one or two drinks), sightseeing etc. Will it be enough?

food( american fast food chains

Not criticising, but you have insinuated you only want to eat in fast food chains...is there a particular reason for this? Yes, it's cheap, but why go to a different country and eat the same as you can at home?

If I were to eat fast food( McDonald's) everyday twice,

I've never eaten fast food in Poland, but have looked at prices out of curiosity. It's pretty much on a par with fast food prices in the UK, maybe a bit cheaper.

It's not expensive.
Why don't you try some Polish food while you're there? Eating McD's twice a day is a bit boring and not exactly healthy.

shop a bit ( zara, h&m),

Both Kraków and Wrocław have big shopping malls, but prices for branded clothes are similar to those of the west.

stay in a three star hotel( room will be shared with a friend),

You will easily find good, well priced accommodation in both cities.
As InWroclaw has commented, book in advance as availability will be more of a problem in the peak summer months.

Make sure you see the Panorama painting when you visit, it's well worth it.

Agreed. It costs about 25 pln and includes admission to the National Museum too.
Worth noting as well that many museums have free entry days, and even if you have to pay for admission, prices are very low.

If you don't fancy a trip to Auschwitz when you visit Kraków, do try and visit the Wieliczka salt mines. Well worth a visit, not expensive, and about 10 kms outside Kraków. Most decent hotels will have information on these trips.

In addition, try and pick up copies of Kraków/Wrocław InYourPocket guides. They are free from tourist information centres/some hotels, and probably to download too. Lots of info in them about restaurants, clubs etc.

Minus accommodation, let's assume I'll be left with 300 pln per day for food( american fast food chains), clubbing( one or two drinks), sightseeing etc. Will it be enough?

That amount should be ample I would think, but then it depends on what you're drinking in clubs and whether you just stick with the one or two ;)

Sure you'll have a great time, both are lovely cities :)

American fast food chains was generally just for reference, sure I'll try the local cuisine too but that will be rare. As far as alcohol is concerned, I dont plan on passing out or anything, just a couplebof drinks to get in the groove if you will.

How are the costs in Krakow, Wroclaw compared to the costs in Dubai? Went to Dubai this past summer and lived comfortably with quite a bit of shopping and eating out in expensive chains for around 8000 dhs or 7200 pln for 8 days ( accommodation excluded). This included some clubbing as well but it was really costly ( around 100 dhs or 90 pln as entrance fees for a average club). Drinks were 100 dhs for one shot of vodka. Food usually involved fast food chains( ( average meal cost around 20 to 25 dhs). Will I be okay if I take the same amount to Poland for the same number of days?
