BBC'S Hairy Bikers come to Poland

The Hairy Bikers (google them if you haven't heard of them) have kicked off their new series "Hairy Bikers' Northern Exposure" in Poland. A lot of views of scenery and townscapes, some mention of history and traditions and of course the cooking.

They make pierogi, bigos, kielbasa, piernik and a few other bits and pieces.

Worth mentioning that they're obviously Polonophiles (not their first visit) and are very positive about the people they meet and about Poland as a whole. The camerawork is particularly good - it somehow captures the feel of the place.

If you're outside the UK, you'll have to either use a VPN or maybe download a torrent if it's available. The second episode was about Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and also positive, but perhaps not as glowing and special as the way they show and speak about Poland

The episode has been shown previously. Presents a good view of Polish hospitality.

Yes it does. Are we talking about the same Poland show? This was first broadcast in the autumn - though of course that was UK only. Anyway, it's just been released on BBC iPlayer and I really recommend it!

Ah for the good old days of the British TV chefs. The best of them all being everyone's favourite, Keith "I'll just have a quick snort of the local wine" Floyd:))

He was massively popular on Polish TV back in the day. :)

It's Mary Berry or nothing nowadays. Did anyone see her Easter show where she got the Polish guy to make babka?

Nothing beats experience - Mary Berry rules O.K. She has done wonders for the more mature ladies.

This was first broadcast in the autumn -

1st September, a friend of mine phoned me up specifically to say it was on.
Yep, they were very enthusiastic about Poland and the food, they did a really good job!
Well worth a watch to anyone who hasn't seen it.

Thanks for that link jon357 - that was entertaining. I ended up watching two other episodes: Baltic States and Russia. I must admit the Baltic States one was a bit dry in comparison, and I equally enjoyed the one on Russia (makes me want to drive to Leningrad one summer for the white nights).
