Will Americans need a visa to go to Poland soon

Apparently, I read that due to Trump's restriction for a Polish visa; the EU is planning to set up visa requirement for Americans.

I asked because I plan to go to Poland to have yearly meetings with a few friends in Poland at around May for 2-3 weeks. Now, I'm scared if I would need a visa and the difficulty getting it.

This has nothing to do with Trump (other than European politicians reflexively disliking him, they've wanted to do this for a long time but they liked Obama too much to do it on his watch).

It's non-binding and it won't take effect until twelve months after the European Commission passes it (not on the immediate horizon).

Its a disgrace that the EU didn't do this years ago

UK citizens do not need a visa there. I just get somehing called an ESTA, free online.

Its not right for Americans to do this either.

I think they ban people from entering for the next year or six months. Doesn't happen often, but it has certainly happened to an American, a Canuck and a Kiwi of my acquaintance, and to a Brit, pre-EU accession.
