Poland - never again

So we should let him insult Poland because he praises the US. OK.

If some of the Poles here didn't insult the U.S. and Americans every chance they got I could see your point.
Remember that this IS an American forum and in America we are guaranteed the Freedom of Speech.
I think I have seen just about every country in the world get insulted on this forum.
So what, did anyone get hurt, besides their feelings that is ?

I really do see your point.
Lying is excused by freedom of speech.

I do apologise for using this forum. The name has misled me.

For me it is amazing how selective power of observation some people have. I live in UK , I have visited USA for 6 weeks and I am Polish....and I am not astonished by customer service in UK or USA. Shops and restaurants full of kids working there to earn extra money. They did not bring me to my knees with quality of their service. Some will do with elocution lessons as they don't speak by just mumble.

In general there are better and worse things in any country but saying all is bad in Poland is just stupid.

But just look at starbucks in the usa for customer service comparison. In the usa if youre black you can loiter just hang out, use any bathroom you want without buying anything, panhandle, etc. and any little uwaga or complaint against you, there will be a bunch of hyper liberal women and ncaa coming to your rescue and you can sue the place. Who can do that in Poland where white people particularly get treated that way all the time without earning a zloty for it? Or a free college tuition (look up the latest starbucks articles).

Ive been treated way worse than those blacks in poland and im polish and white yet no one gave me a cookie. Any of you feel the same and feel every starbucks or company including ones in poland should treat us like were black and give us cookies?

First off he's not insulting Poland... if anything he's insulting the service he received which he is more than free to do... but a 4 page thread devoted to criticizing him because he criticized the service he received seems ridiculous...

I'm for this site gaining new members - not chasing them away....

He's not a new member. He's a regular here. And American. You don't need to be extremely bright to figure it out. If you don't know who he is, well ... they didn't trust you enough to share it with you.

Criticising others for confronting this liar? Where's freedom of speech here.
And making up lies about Poland is insulting. And that is not freedom of speech unlike confrorting his lies.

As someone mentioned above- It is American forum and free speech is allowed.....but it is not criticising one bad service it is comparing and SAYING THAT EVERYTHING IS BETTER IN USA so people are allowed not to agree with him.

Like : Graffiti is better in USA because it shows are of activity for different gangs and in Poland it is just random hooligans activity. Subject to debate....Some animals sign their territory by peeing so for me it is sort of jungle rules not civilised country.

First off he's not insulting Poland...

I noticed very quickly how asymmetrical things are here. My criticism of what effected me directly and negatively was immediately viewed as some kind of anti-Polish hate speech. My positive comments were ignored. Even the fact that I managed, against all odds, to get on that train in 1966 was incredulous and suspect. What the hell am I supposed to do to prove it? Find that ticket? Yes, my father had enough good connections in Poland and in the Western Europe to help me get out. Here is a link about him:

pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marian_Mazur_(naukowiec)

This sentence will hopfully end all speculations about my past:

Mieli razem dwóch synów, którzy obecnie mieszkają za granicą, w Belgii i Stanach Zjednoczonych.

When I opened a new thread, the comments were all about me faking my Polish heritage without any attempt to figure out what would be the upside for me to do it.

There is a general rule in life decent people observe: never make an accusation without proof or the accused being able to disprove it. Unless, of course, you are a Polish troll looking for a hook.

And making up lies about Poland is insulting.

I find his comments to be pretty insulting to be honest, especially the part where he suggests that Polish clinics and hospitals won't treat you unless you show them the cash first, which simply isn't true. And the ridiculous comments about bathrooms in schools not having doors - that, if anything, was clearly meant to offend and insult.

Still, respect to him for impersonating the child of a well known Pole. Clearly Roggers has way too much time on his hand in the desert.

Yes, genius, you got me. So, I walked into a clinic on Szpitalna with bad bronchitis and coughing my lungs out. They said that, of course, we take credit cards and I said screw you and walked right out only for the purpose of going home next day after paying $440 for changing my LOT reservations.

You are so brilliant it takes my breath away. You should apply to the FBI to help them find that Trump-Putin collusion that is still in hiding.

It looks you went to some public hospitals? You'd have much better luck if you went to a private clinic; there are many of them in Warsaw and I'm sure they are open 7 days a week. Whoever advised you (a taxi driver?) to choose a public hospital during the weekend was not too friendly to you; public hospitals in Poland or on a stand-by mode on Saturdays and Sundays and have a limited number of doctors working then.

Are you sure you're not related to Pola Negri, too?
So a son of a well known scientist, with a degree from a Polish university who doesn't speak Polish. Sure ...

Well there is your mistake , you should have paid, asked for a receipt then claimed it back on your insurance when you got home, your health is more important that a few thousand zloty tops to get it sorted.

Son of a communist party member, no way did MM do that stuff without being a member in good standing (or major connections to those who were)

To be fair contrary to some people on this forum you are not rude but.....you started this thread wrong way. It would be better perceived if you said 'After so many years I came back and...I did not like this...this....but with this I was positively surprised'.

There is no clinic on Szpitalna Street in Warsaw.

There is no clinic on Szpitalna Street in Warsaw.

You are correct. My bad. It was Solec 99. The hospital is also on Solec down the street. I stayed on Dobra 22/24 through AirBnB.

The fact that the clinic and the hospital are public does not change anything. If they don't take credit cards the minimum a decent human being with a functioning brain would do is direct a sick guy like me to the nearest private facility. Instead, as under commies, the moron just wanted to get rid of me without any valid reason like me being impolite. I was too sick to be impolite and I spoke as well and anyone in Poland, as at no time my Polish was an issue.

Poland has a problem of the habits and the customs from the days of communism still lingering. Eventually, you will be like the US where a customer is more important than a clerk and getting information does not involve what we compare to pulling teeth. On the other hand, I admit that the US Embassy was just as bad, but that's another story.

I do not understand why people compare two different countries. Its never ending story... Every country has its own rules, life-style, traditions, and so on. Anyway but as far I see from the comments some members here like kaprys are too patriotic... Come on you guys need to be more open-minded. BTW I do not agree with the OP. Poland is a developed country and at the same time a huge country. Of course there are some problems. If you search problems you may always find them. Nothing is flawless.

@Rich Mazur

As far I see from your comments you just want to complain anything you see. Come on could not you find a different topic to discuss? Restroom? WTF?

Violent crime in the U.S. has fallen sharply over the past quarter century. There are much more serious problems in the US

Well. Firstly, Patriotism is about a feeling and not simply about pledging allegiance to a state/nation. There are two forms of patriotism: the intelligent patriotism, and blind patriotism. However, there is a deficit of Nationalism in the USA. In fact, American people consider themselves superior to others. This is pathetic. Morever, People that cant take criticism well simply means that their ego is not permitting them to look at the issue.

Or being black at starbucks and loitering all day. no that would always be allowed in poland!!

But only if ur black that is. Polish on polish is as bad as black on black cirme that is. Polish people hate one another. Its a competition for that zlote. dwa oczy dwa pienioazki.

Didn't you ever go to a restaurant so bad that you would never want to go there again?

My comments about Poland are such a review. Add to this my 50 years of not using Polish, and the decision was simple when I realized I would be dealing with morons in the event of a medical emergency. At my age and after two incidents where my life was on the line, nothing is more important. When Poland passes a law that will require all hospitals to treat all patients with life threatening conditions without asking a single question before the treatment starts, I may reconsider. It's that simple.

As I mentioned above there are serious problems in the US. How do you relate Poland with restaurants?

Why do some people generalise? I really cannot understand. It does not make a sense. Even as an American citizen you cannot generalise whole America. There are for sure other parts of the country that you have not seen before.

Yes, I can if based on statistics. Generalization does not mean everybody. It only means that there is a pattern worth considering when my safety is concerned. Five Koreans teenagers walking down the street - no problem. Five black teenagers - big problem.

Today, even statistics are "racist". Quoting the crime data showing black murder rate being so many times higher than whites', will get you fired faster than anything; maybe with the exception of claiming that rape is the single most often falsely reported crime in the US.

It's a fact that women use their ability to lie as a weapon but if you say it you are done. This is why I would never go on a business trip with a woman. To many guys this turned out to be a career ending experiment. In the she said he said situation the guy is screwed every time.

And if you cite those statistics while living in certain european countries especially the UK germany sweden etc you will not only be censored but also prosecuted, fined, and possibly even put in jail. The left does not want the failures of multiculturalism to be exposed. Thats why theyre prosecuting thought crime now. You write something negative about muslims especially, even if its totally factual or cite some statistic youll be promptly contacted by the security services and fined. If you keep doing it theyll put you in jail. Yet muslims can walk down the streets with sharia 4 uk signs and yelling uk go to hell, we wamt sharia not democracy and even lauding isis al qaeda and not get in any trouble. Freedom of speech does not exist anymore especially in the UK and Germany. Merkel refused to even wave a German flag and tossed it aside like an old *** towel, not to mention the police tell germans not to waive their own flag because it 'provokes' the muslim migrants. That is how low these countries have sank thanks to PC and marxist leaders.

you will not only be censored but also prosecuted

It's very depressing and serves as yet another reason for me to stay here and lovingly stare at the US Constitution. With all my posts in the past, I would be serving life-no-parole in Europe or get decapitated by one of the followers of the religion of peace.

BTW, I am really curious why the Euros are doing it? Normally, people act to have more power, sex, or money. How allowing the foreign, unemplyable, and hateful scum into, say, Sweden makes any anyone there better off. I just don't get it.

As a side note: trolls, here is your opportunity to say that there are many things I don't get, so go for it.
