stand around in the market square and get hit in the face by fireworks thrown by drunken idiots

New Year celebrations in Polish cities should come with a mandatory set of safety goggles

What do people normally do for New Year's eve celebrations in Krakow?

I have not been to Krakow for New Years Eve for som 6 years but the last time I went it was a fantastic night. Live groups on the Rynek and thousands of people having a party. The only problem that night was getting some sfood and drinks, everywhere was booked solid for private party's and most had their doors closed.

I was really looking forward to spending New Year's Eve in Krakow because it's my first year living here. Imagine my disappointment when I found out there's not even going to be live music and it'll only last about an hour due to the "difficult financial situation". Where do I know it from? An article in Gazeta Krakowska.

New Year's Eve in Krakow - where to spend it near Rynek?

We want to celebrate New Year's Eve, 31/12/08, in Krakow. Who can give me some suggestions? I've heard that the Rynek market square is very cosy that evening. What is a good restaurant/place to eat in the neighbourhood of the Rynek? Reservations are necessary? And a good place to sleep?

From recent memory, most of the bars and restaurants were closed for private party's and we ended up in a rather expensive hotel bar. I would check for a venue near the Rynek and book a table.

Merged: New Year in Krakow ?

One just needs to write in google search (in Serbian, of course, in this case) > nova godina u krakovu > google.rs/?gws_rd=cr,ssl&ei=PRoZVvf-Gcj_sQG8jrvwBw#q=nova+godina+u+krakovu

Rumors then many travel agencies in Serbia suggest Krakow for New Year. i thinking of it. Is it worth? How Krakow look like for New Year? Anybody from this forum or guests experienced it?

Always there is a great New Year's Eve Party at the square. There are a lot of celebrities and attractions. And if it goes aboutaccomodation, I've been travelling to Poland in business for some time now, and Palace Apartments is my choice ever since I've been there 3 months ago. Comfortable, luxurious and close to the main roads.
